AFL360

There's definitely been a narrative pushed from some in the media that we're not an exciting team to watch.
It's an attempt to belittle what a great team we are now because it threatens their own team's legacies.

Tiges fans know better & see through this complete & utter BS.

Used to know a Hawks fan that jumped on that bandwagon, after beating them he was whingeing about how we put too much pressure on them & forced them to turn it over. Reckons thier 'kick/mark' game is much better to watch.... Yes i am serious.

He can't write either. Not as a journo. Practically the only time he ever comes up with anything decent is special interest stories, like the one after Danny Frawley's death or the one with Trevor Barker's mum after Barker was admitted to the HoF.

He should take over from Jon Anderson, that's his calling. Mick Warner needs to put the gloves back on and have another crack.
Warner makes ppl accountable. Ppl in high places don't like that kind of thing. They want "yes" men like whateley.

Stagerfield in the past has called for shorter seasons, He's at the Perfect Club to knock a couple of weeks off his season each yr.
Stager wants to replicate the EPL. 11 home games at Bowling Alley Park and no finals. Top team wins the flag.

Spot on Harry. Despite the fact we didn't play that well it is very hard to score when you have 18 opposition players in your forward 50.

The spectacle of that game was all on Buckley's tactics yet hardly anyone in the media has highlighted it. I reckon the only one was the journo in the after game presser who asked Buckley what he thought about not kicking a goal after half time. Nafan got all defensive and asked the journo if he was going to ask Dimma the same question. The journo said he wouldn't as Richmond didn't go goalless in the second half :rotfl2:rotfl2Nafan sucked lemons.

Anyway, the standard of impartial reporting on football nowadays is just pathetic. They all have their own agendas.
Re: agenda's, this has even crept in with Commentary as well. The standard of which is pathetic nowadays.

Yeah and tosser oppo supporters keep trying to downplay our GF wins because we only beat interstate teams.

Funny how we didn't hear any of that when Hawthorn beat 3 interstate teams in a row; in an era of extremely compromised drafts which made it difficult for teams to improve their lists quickly. Also never heard it when Geelong beat Port by 119 points. Or when the Bulldogs beat

The footy world just can not cope with the fact that the RFC is no longer a laughing stock and is in fact the most powerful club in the AFL.
Ppl such as Robbo are seething that when looking for the new laughing stock they need to look at thier own Clubs.

I watched 360 last night to see what Jack had to say.

Jack is not right IMO. He is not his usual bubbly self. He has either taken lockdown harder than others or something else is going on.

Same sort performance as after the Prelim when the media circus jumped on him for not doing anything ?

During the game Daisy brought this up, the other commentators were just like, ok and then kept dribbling on about some other crap. I think Daisy has a very good understanding of the game, she was commenting on why when Collingwood broke through our forward press, why they had to constantly look sideways and that was because no-one was up the field. All trying to defend their lead, and yet we are regarded as the defensive ones. Robbo needs to stop the drinking, playing havoc with his eyesight.

On another note, did anyone see how giddy Matthew Lloyd looked on Footy Classified because the Bombers had won 2 games in a row against 2 sides that should finish bottom 5. "They'll win a final this year" Haha ok then.

Leave the little bombers alone.
They just got over freo and struggled to beat a Sydney team that had no forward line.
How nice would it be having them in the finals?
We might return serve the 2001 final score back to them

It’s incredible that someone who struggles to form a coherent sentence can be recognised as a journalist. Head football writer, unbelievable.

my texting conversation with Bombers supporter mate on Sunday watching game:

him: "Bombers are Terrible"
me: "Yep"
him: "Sh*t House"

The collective footy media memory lasts 15 years for Geel and Haw, 12 seconds for us. See STILL GIVING US NOTHING thread.
As for JR, time will tell, the end can come quick for forwards. In this case though, he'll kick 5 tomorrow night.

Gerard just diagnosed Dusty with broken ribs because he is missing. What a *smile* you are Kermit.

Probably still drunk after those premiership bombers won 2 in a row. A bit like how giddy Matthew Lloyd was last night on Footy Classified over the Bombers.

We are a defensive team, but were ranked 2nd with average goals kicked 13.8 in 2018 and ranked 1st last year with 12.9. Kicked the joint highest score of Round 1 and then got flooded by the Pies.

If Gerard didn't hate us so much I'd think he would have challenged Robbo on these cold hard facts but then that doesn't make good TV according to them.
Cut it out Poshm
If you watch him, when someone praises us. He either changes the subject or interupts with another question.
It may have been a dull game. But 99% of the population watched the 2 best defences at work.
Howe and moore were both unbelievably good intercepting any high ball, while Crimes, broad, Houli and Big V constantly counter punched any attack by Collingwood.
Without been one eyed, we had their measure for longer periods in the game. But we weren't good enough to open them up.
A nil all draw is a fitting result

Jeez, a "nil all draw is a fitting result", that's sounds like complacency is acceptable Zipps!

Your extensive previous comments belie that!

Titus O"Reilly, the old sage, said the last game was like ordering a large pizza and having a small pizza delivered. Perhaps, a more appropriate analogy?

can you add 1995? I know we won but it's still great to repeat the dose!

I don't think either side went deliberately defensive, it was just that fatigue hit and the two way running dried up.

The players are drilled that when they are fatigued and get stuck on the field, to drop the offensive running and maintain defence.

An aspect of the game that hasn't been discussed is when you score fewer goals the opportunity to rotate becomes scarcer and your systems for fatigue management become strained.

So the players win the ball defensively but instead of surging, they hang back and lose on the outnumber to the opposition defence, and so on and so on. The longer it goes on the worse it gets.

Nice point re goals and fatigue, but Collingwood definitely started flooding the backline from the second quarter. There was a clear difference between the teams for mine

Spoke glowing of us, when commentating on the stkilda game, how well Butler represented what club he came from. "Well organised" "unbelievable running patterns".

Robbo last night "without dusty do you give hawthorn a chance?"
Pinocchio justed let the question fly over to the keeper.
Thats was all of there match summary of our game, Dusty out and Omeara in.

Thought I would watch the 2018 prelim. just to refresh memory on how we played.
No doubt had a bad night and Collingwood deserved win but we came back pretty hard....just needed a bit more support for Jack and could have made it interesting.
What struck me though was the raptures Bruce and Brian were in that we were getting beaten. (Richo was pretty quiet).
Very biased commentary with little acknowledgement for Richmond....also they made it sound like Mason Cox was John Coleman re-incarnated.
