How about Montagna on First Crack last night. Pulling himself over Port Adelaide and said they are premiership favourites.

Yeah right Leigh; you do realise they played North........................................

Montagna the Moron.

Hear ! Hear Pidley !

And he's doing forward scouting for Freo too.

Montagna was ready to give them the cup last night.

More than happy for the pundits to pump up the challengers. It's been happening since 2017. One day, maybe after our 4th on 5 years, the kids that grew up only knowing Richmond as the butt of all AFL jokes will realise a dominant Richmond is the rule, not the exception.

Oddly though Montagna and Dal Santo are both look down on us. Grant Thomas must have really trash talked us over a long time. Jack's cousin sees us for what we are, but that's probably because he's a Jack Fanboi

How quickly some of these flogs forget.

Montagna has just claimed that Port are the best kicking team in the comp. He does realise that the only exposed form they have had this year is against the 2 teams widely expected to finish bottom 2? If their kicking DIDN'T look good against them then they shouldn't even be being discussed as a title rival. How did their kicking look in the prelim last year??

Its been the biggest knock on Port for a while, they aren't a good kicking team. They have big brutish midfielders and they hit damn hard, but they aren't great kicks of the footy. One of the reasons why Rockliff has been moved out of there, trying to get someone who can kick into the team.
Port have some very good kicks. No one expects inside brutes to be lace-out specialists, but they do have Amon, Farrell, Houston, Hartlett, Bonnor and Rozee who are elite kicks. Marshall is a good kick, so is Aliir, so are Butters, Duursma, Fantasia.

It's us and Port then daylight, I reckon.

They would be jealous of our 3 flags

Port were the clear second best side last season. They would have made the GF if we hadn't lost to Brisbane.

Yep. In his column today in the dislikes, blobbo is saying astbury is the “ luckiest man in round 1 and dangerfield the unluckiest”. Direct quote.
also said dangerflog didn’t leave the ground and accidental. Astubury’s act had “ deliberate menace”.
And no comment on danihers identical incident either.
How does he then justify what happened in the GF then. “ he didn’t leave the ground, he didn’t lift an arm”
Blobbo always seems to want to stick the boot into the Tigers.
Dangerfield concussed the player and nothing happened to the guy Astbury shrugged off.
Lucky??? I don't think so. Clangerfield unlucky....no way. He was lucky to get off after putting Vlastuin out of the GF. Should get what he deserves this time.

Port are very good. But we've just had Round 1. A few upsets and the game is being played at a frenetic pace.

I know the media work on the assumption that their audience has the attention span of a gnat, but that is more a reflection of the attention span of the media.

Fast paced games were the order of the week over round 1 but this will not last. Defensive structures will adapt and the game may end up with less stoppages and more pace, but it won't be as accentuated as it was last weekend.

It is a long season, the game has opened up a bit, the games are back to their proper length.

The team which paces itself, sorts out how best to exploit the changes and how best to nullify offensive advantage as a result of the changes, will win.

Plus, Port just beat North - whoopee wow, last year when we played North they didn't score in the first quarter and, if memory serves me correctly, they had no inside 50s in the first quarter.

It's like claiming someone will break the world record marathon time because they sprinted the first 100 meters. Such a pathetic grab for attention.

Port are no doubt a danger but Montagna the Moron went right over the top. He is obviously desperate to stamp a team to knock off Richmond. He was all over Geelong in last year's finals series (Kath Loughnan made him look like the fool he is) and even in the pre season. The loss to the wooden spooners has spooked him so he has jumped onto Port.

Every year the experts say it's the best kicking teams that will dominate. Then the likes of George, McIntosh, Cotchin, Pickett, Lambert and Broad hold up the cup. lol

Every year the experts get it so wrong.

Spot on. Not enough respect for Port around here. They are the only team since 2017 who have kept up with us when we were at full strength and on our game.

Yeah but they (and Brisbane) had all the favours last year. They most likely won't get to play teams that have been away from home for 100 plus days this season.

Plus the last time we played them at the G in 2019 we toyed with them.

That said I do think they are most likely the main danger.

David King nailing the Doggerfraud incident and absolutely schooling Bobblehead Morris.
To his eternal credit, David King gets this when so very, very few in the footy community do.

He is dead right when he talks about the action of running at a defenceless opponent being the one that needs to be stamped out because it is that precipitous action that magnifies the chances of a horrible injury occurring.

Focusing on 'the outcome' or the 'accidental' nature of the head clash or even peripheral stuff like whether he left the ground or raised an elbow is missing the point.

Like David King, I find it hard to believe anyone could argue, in the current climate and under the AFL's grading of the incident, that Dangerfield should get anything less than 3-4 weeks to sit in the grandstand and ponder the meaning of 'duty of care'.

If the AFL tribunal does not send the required message this time around, when will it?

I got doubts on Port.

White hot pressure finals footy and they just put it on Charlie’s head.

And they can cough it up. Boak, Wines, Rockliff, Powell pepper, none of em are dependable by foot.

The sludge equalised both sides in our PF against them, along with the fact they are twice as good on their own dung heap.

If we play off against Port at the G in the big dance we will win comfortably.

So Elmer Fudd went off his big, fat, bald head over the Zac Williams incident - and not just on one show but two nights running - citing the disgrace it was, the AFL needs to be serious about this, it deserved a bigger penalty blah blah blah....

What does he reckon Clangerfield should receive ?

Dangerfield should get at least 5.

Absolutely no duty of care to his opponent. Just like the GF.

Could have killed the bloke.

He always accelerates into contests without caring about the damage he can cause.

Speaking about careless snipers, what about the clumsiest, most dangerous, most protected sniper out there - fyfe - just put his team mate out for 12 months.

Georgiades can win Port a flag. But maybe not this year.

Plus they still have Dursma.
