Adam Thomson - Making his Richmond debut this Sat night...

Well I reckon he did alright for his first hit out in the yellow and black.

Dunno what stats he had, but was tackling and shepherding (!!!) rather well.

He had 3 kicks, 10 handballs & 7 tackles.
Looked okay but like most Richmond players his skills are average.

I think skills can look poor when the game plan is not right..we always seem to rush when we have the ball.is that our mindset,or the perceived pressure of the opposition?

He was OK. Did one super smother and some good 1%ers. Tagged Hodgey for awhile and did OK. Quicker than I thought.

Too hard to make my mind up on one game, especially since he was playing injured at the end.

according to the stats had 4 clearances. i assume to be mostly in and under clearances. also his disposal efficiency today isn't too bad at 70%. 7 tackles and 6 of his possessions were contested.

fantastic smother on the wing early on. Sprinted 30 yards or more (he can move ok) and dived and made the smother. very un-richmond like. on that performance alone he outperformed most of his team mates this year.

LOL...sad but true...good post!

Effort was good but as others have said his disposal looks iffy. In other words, your classic Richmond player.

If we are ever going to improve then we have to draw a line in the sand and stop recruiting players with sub standard disposal. Our players would make any game plan look ineffective if they executed it with the same level of skill as last night.

He will be a decent replacement for Coughlan

Agree... Looks like a quicker version of Coughlan. Can't base much on one game, but considering it was his first for the year, he tried hard, and doesn't look awkward out there, which is always a plus for a Richmond recruitment.

Give him a few more games this year and next - might be worth it.

His disposal was iffy because he was getting the ball under packs.

Looked okay. But got injured during the game I saw. He will be better with a full pre-season and could be a very good contributor to the side in 2010.

Although my interest waned as the game went on I barely saw him! Sorry.

His disposal was iffy because it is iffy. Another glass half full/empty player the masses will tolerate for years based on having one attribute only that is required be a good afl player.

Not a great start with a new club.
