ABC article. How to stop The Tigers

We need to make adjustments to counter this I say alot of this is on us not teams working us out. A example we a ranked last for tackles in our inside 50 , were not moving the ball quick enough and hitting our skills to.I still believe alot of players down in form to.The forward line is a concern.

Yeah this article failed to mention one thing.we are playing utterly atrociously.

Yeh, we've played the same way for 3 + years, not sure this is some eureka moment. We've really dropped off in terms of connection, those deft taps, touches and handballs are missing their targets. Our skills are off. More game time will see that cohesion return. And agree it won't matter what the opposition do when we click again.
And the ones who have contributed most to that connection weren't on the paddock...Cotch, Prestia and Edwards. Then the one providing the long passes into our fwd line was Houli. Both Tom and Jack do better when leading up to quick passes from centreline rather than sitting deep and trying to take a pack mark which is too easily spoiled. We stopped and waited too often vs Sydney. Our fwds needed to be moving targets even if it is a bit crowded.

Figured us out? Don't think so. Our intensity and pressure is no where near where it can be, where it should be. Our numbers to the ball is severely lacking. No swarming, running in numbers, link up through the middle. No game plan can counter us when this is up and running. For some reason we are going away from what makes us great. We are losing contests because we don't have that extra player or 2 providing support to the ball carrier. Teams are breaking through us because we are lacking the extra player or 2 to lay the decisive tackle. The rest that occurs around the ground is a result of this.

Our game plan is pretty simple. Sure we set up well defensively around the ground, but our movement forward is pretty basic. Break through the middle quickly with numbers and link up and get it into F50 quickly where jack and tom either mark or the small forwards apply pressure on the crumbs. This is why coaches like fagan and scott scratch their heads when we slap them.

So this. I looked for scores from turnovers in forward 50’s & scores from forward stoppages, couldn’t find them.
Feels like these aren’t happening as often. When our pressure is on these two things just happen.

Interesting to go back over this article now we are in form.

Dimma said in the presser we had been ranked 15th for scores from turnovers in the forward half averaging 28 points a game. Last nite we generated 60 ish. Forward half turnovers and pressure are still our One wood. Stats much what we saw, last nite was the brand we need.

You could see last night a definite effort to not bomb the ball in so much into the 50. Dogs flooded back like swans etc have. But we chipped it around to draw some defenders out before moving it into the 50.
