My ladder for 2005:
1) Sydney
2) Port
3) Catters
4) Sainters
5) Dees
6) Brisbane
7) Weagles
8) Bluebaggers
9) Dockers
10) North
11) Dons
12) Doggies
13) Maggots
14) Tiges
15) Hawkers
16) Crows, where they should be.
Sydney - the unforseen captaincy issue & change of gameplan were major issues. I still reckon they'll be up there at season's end, maybe not at no.1, but up there.
Port - the hangover, and the loss of Carr, Schofield & Hardwick were greater than expected.
Catters - yes, up there.
Sainters - yes, they'll be there too.
Dees - yes, up there too.
Brisbane - the crash came harder than most of us thought. I thought they'd decline, but not by that much. Still, half a season to go.
Weagles - yes, improved further than I thought. Still half a season to go, and not that impressive the last fortnight.
Bluebaggers - hopelessly over-rated by me.
Dockers - yes, just as I thought.
North - yes, just as I thought. Just lacking for 1 or 2 extra stars.
Dons - the youngens didn't come up, so the worst scenario occured.
Doggies - yes, about right.
Maggots - yes, about right.
Tiges - still half a season to go. At season's end I might be right after all.
Hawks - yes, about right.
Crows - failed to appreciate their home ground advantage.
9 out of 16 yes, another 4 not that far off, and 3 were way out.
