Play occasional cricket with a (English) guy who has just come back. Said he had no-idea what they were trying to achieve there and is leaving the army after more than 10 years. For what that is worth.........

He'd also completed a tour of Iraq.
 
Bit of doubt on the hanging story.

No doubt about the front cover of this week's Time magazine, however.

Stupid war. The Diggers might say they are doing worthwhile stuff but the Brits and the Yanks say it's pointless. They are, of course, where all the fighting is taking place. The Australians are in a benign area.

Tends to mean a bit when you realise the sacrifices made and the mates lost and the sh!t they are putting up with every day over there, especially in Afghanistan.

Ask the familys of the dead Aussies'.
