2023 Grand Final - Pies v Lions ... Australia Mourns!

I hope it’s not a blowout and game over by quarter time like last year.
I think it might be a blowout.

GF’s tend to be!

These two sides have no excuses.

Perfect weather for footy to showcase your skills.

They finished 1 & 2 for a reason.

Though one team’s performance in their finals were unimpressive.

Go Lions 🦁

Motorcade underwhelming. Where was George?
The Auskicker looked disappointed to be put with Ducker Selwood.

Didn’t like the footage of the pies laughing and joking in the rooms while most of the Brisbane players look so nervous they are going to vomit.

A bit of fake audio crowd cheering noise for KISS.

Brisbane comfortably by at least 4 goals. They have been the form side of the finals and have enough quality on every line to really trouble Collingwood.

KISS were pretty good, those minis will remember that for a long time. How many people can say they played air guitar on the MCG turf with KISS on GF day

We all dislike Collingwood but the below is impressive.

15 Premierships Going for No 16.

Played in 44 GF’s included two draws.

They were established in 1892.

In 1896, VFA clubs Geelong, Essendon, Collingwood, Fitzroy, Melbourne and South Melbourne met to form the VFL as a break-away competition, with Carlton and St Kilda later invited to join for the new season the next year.

Commenced in the VFL in 1896 and won their first premiership the same year.

So they have been in the VFL/AFL competition for 127 years. ( 131 if you count inception).

So in 127 seasons they have appeared in VFL/AFL Grand Finals, including 2 draws, 44 times and won 15.

A winning percentage of 34% , but irrespective of that , they give their supporters and themselves a chance to play in a GF , a 1 in 3 years opportunity , which is phenomenal.

Still , go Lions for your Fitzroy supporters.
