2021 Draft Thread

We were this year, when we were cooked. Last year we flogged all comers in the finals when we needed to.

Besides, if Hobbs, Ward and Johnson (not really a contested beast but classy) are gone, what do you do?
That’s why the trade with Arsendon is more appealing if it can secure Hobbs/Johnson. Not sure it does, but if it does, get Gibcus and a genuine contested mid. All good players and killing 2 birds with one stone. Or, try and move up with 26/27/28 and try and beat Carlton to the punch with MacDonald.

Nah. We’re last and second last for contested possessions and clearances. We get hammered. I need more security that we’re dealing or rectifying that issue long term than relying on those 3 to be the solution.
We were decimated with injuries to our midfield last year which goes some way to explain our contested numbers.
And although we flicked the contested switch during finals in 2020, we still won plenty of football that year with low contested numbers.
Not saying we couldn’t use an Oliver or Pertracca but not sure we’re as desperate as some have intimated.

We definitely need some A grade talent.
Those players win you games no matter what position they play.

Rumour : Richmond to take 4 picks max and could possibly be even 3 if a trade to move up gets done

Yes, I heard that too (4) but Clarke said only if the deal benefits us, if not we'll take 5 picks. I reckon we have something teed up. We'll know soon enough.

Can see massive dummy spits on here if that happens irrelevant of whether we get 3 top shelf juniors and/or picks for 2022. The quote "he was still on the board at what would have been our pick" will be posted a lot...

What’s with the American colours??
Disgraceful integration of a culture that has far too big an influence on our great country and our youth.

Lol didn't even notice that, was too busy having a laugh at all the punch lines which are spot on!

Would not surprise me to see our F1 traded along with other picks if there is any chance to get Callaghan

Understand the Giants are trying to find a suitor to strike a last-minute trade that would see them get another top-10 pick. Josh Gibcus in their sights. Bit to play out still.
