There are no stupid ideas, just stupid people
Liam Ryan would have been handy among those three picks. Jack, Tom, Dusty and Liam. Our bombs I50 would deliver in spades.
Just looking at the 2017 Draft we could have done a lot better in hindsight, 3 picks inside 25 and only Balta likely to be a star:
If only we selected Oscar Allen and Sam Taylor before Higgo and CJ our future spine would be set.
The glaring one was Oscar Allen who was always highly rated, West Coast couldn't believe their luck.
1 17 Richmond Tigers Jack Higgins 1 18 Brisbane Lions Brandon Starcevic 1 19 Gold Coast Suns Wil Powell 2 20 Richmond Tigers Callum Coleman-Jones 2 21 West Coast Eagles Oscar Allen 2 22 Geelong Cats Lachlan Fogarty 2 23 North Melbourne Kangaroos Will Walker 2 24 Geelong Cats Tim Kelly 2 25 Richmond Tigers Noah Balta 2 26 West Coast Eagles Liam Ryan 2 27 GWS Giants Brent Daniels 2 28 GWS Giants Sam Taylor 2 29 Melbourne Demons Charlie Spargo 2 30 Carlton Blues Tom De Koning
Higgo looked fantastic in his first season before the surgeries. Not sure on that basis you could say he was a bad pick.
Oscar Allen ain't that good. Higlet ain't that bad.
Are you serious?
Higgins at pick 17 is on par with lennon @ pick 11 and Conca @ pick 6.
Shocking selection
almost as bad as trading for that midget Prestia
2018 says he was in my eyes. One of the few who stood up in the 18 PF.Take the rose colored glasses off.
Higgins isn't a top 30 pick let alone a top 20 pick.
We buggered up that one.
Wonderful post Benny. We trust our draft people these days. Whats done is done. We make them into players who can make the most of their careers and work with as they become men.
We hope they are successful as players and as people.
Why malign them and say we could have done better. Its like saying your parents could have had a better you.
We have won 2 out of 3 premierships, have the second most members, are envied by all, and you want to put them down.
We are having the times of our lives as supporters.
2018 says he was in my eyes. One of the few who stood up in the 18 PF.
19 Brain injury
20 Trying to find his place again within our side .
21 and beyond . Future not sure.
But yes hindsight is wonderful and those players fix our issues right now but it’s done now.
We will know 21 whether CJ is committed to repaying the club or he wants out. The kid of what I have seen has immense talent. Up to him.
