MATCH REPORT
by lockie15
This was the game we were all hoping for coming in, a comprehensive 11 goal win with our big 3 starring in the midfield. The game couldn't have started any better with a 10 second goal from Deledio showing the Bulldogs that they wouldn't be getting it all their own way in the centre square. The end result probably flattered the Bulldogs due to our inaccurate kicking in the first quarter, hopefully this will be cleaned up in the next month with some critical games coming up. Hopefully Sunday's game put to rest the doubting throughout the league over Dustin Martin, who clearly showed with an improving running ability can be one the premier midfielders in the game. An all round team performance, like Sunday, should be expected every week now, and in doing so, finals are ours for the taking. Hoping for a cloudless sky this saturday afternoon to bury the Pies and prove how much of a joke it is that they get their own personal commentary team.

What a great game and a great atmosphere at Etihad on a Sunday afternoon. From the moment Deledio burst from the middle and slotted the opening goal from 70 metres in the first 10 seconds we knew we were in a great show. As lockie15 pointed out in his report, the only real criticism one could make on the game was our wastefulness in front of goal in the first half.
The voting this week rewarded Dusty's fine 4 quarter display, racking up his equal high disposal count and generally playing an excellent outside role. His dominance in the polls sees him rocket into the top 3. Deledio continued his excellent early season form, gaining possessions, providing a load of run in the midfield and providing scoreboard pressure with another 3 goals this week. The skipper also featured in the polls for his 36 possession game. Another day out for the Chimp and a trifecta for our star midfielders in the polls. As was mentioned in the voting, when those 3 feature as our best players, we are far more likely to win.
This weekend is now set up for a glorious blockbuster on Saturday afternoon as the undefeated Tigers take on a vulnerable Pies. It will be a great test for the boys, taking on a seasoned top 4 side and represent a great opportunity to put the doubters to rest. Either way, it should be huge with a massive crowd in a traditional timeslot at the 'G.
Carn' the Tiges!
