2013 Combine Results

The results help but with if we walked away with Freeman and Little Billy with out first two picks.

Thoughts? I am more and more leaning towards Nathan Freeman.

After watching the sprints I must say that Freeman looks like a beast, you get the impression he would be something of a wrecking ball. What were his beep test numbers?

From a footballing perspective he will still needs to work on sizing up his options, it almost seems like he's programmed to bash and crash and then put ball to boot. His kicking efficiency at TAC level was 48% which is a bit on the low side. That's not to say the situation is irredeemable, but would indicate a little bit of extra risk. Anyone who picks up Freeman will need to be patient, Dangerfield is a good case in point when it comes to this style of player - he was 4 years in the making and I'm sure frustrated people from time to time.

As for Billy Hartung, I just don't think we'll get a sniff unless we can grab another first rounder. I doubt we'll spend pick 11 on him so it will need to be a downgrade or another pick. Unlikely I would suggest.

I hear Ben Lennon has shone in the skills testing as well, almost looks certain to go top ten unfortunately.

Bontempelli is the one who's stocks should have just risen, at 193cm I think there's a strong possibility of him becoming a very mobile KP player, he can take a contested mark, his kicking well above average and his leap is impressive. The sprint results were down which surprised me, he's always had the ability to break the lines so I'm unsure of what to make of them. Does anyone have his 20 metre sprint time?

Do you have anything on Johnathon Freeman? KP Forward type. 198cm 95kg.

I know his parents and I think I met him once when he was 5. Grown up a bit since then it would appear.

Probably a third/fourth round pick if he gets taken.

Adelaide put in a bid of pick 42 (round 3) for him and so Brisbane have had to plonk down pick 49 (round 4 - don't know how that works - would have thought they'd have to beat pick 42...). But great news for him and for his locally based family.
