What is interesting about these votes is that it means that Grigg and Grimes must have got 5 votes from one coach and none from the other. without going into detail that is the only way that these votes could happen as i see it.

It just shows what an even performance it was which to me is a really good sign. 8 players picked in our top 5 and that excludes Newman, Deledio, Morris and Martin who also had very good games.

I don't understand how the coaches votes work. Why would it have to be 5-0 rather than 4-1 or 3-2? How can we tell Cotch or Foley or Grigg didn't get 5 votes from one coach?

All the 2's and all the 1's have been used, so the combinations of 3&2 or 4&1 can't make up the 5 votes. They most likely went something like:

5: Grigg Grimes
4: Cotchin Cotchin
3: Foley Foley
2: Maric Rance
1: Riewoldt Tuck

Yep. I find it interesting that one coach can say a player is BOG and the other not even put him in the top 5.

MATCH REPORT
by lockie15

Saturday twilight, and we were all back at the ‘G’ for a chilly encounter against the Swans. Our boys could not have been more impressive in the first quarter, dominating possession and the scoreboard, keeping the Swans goalless whilst kicking 5-6. But as fellow Tigers supporters know, it’s not a given to last. Cotchin, Martin, Deledio and Foley were the main ball magnets.

The second quarter was a much more even contest, with two goals apiece, and the Tigers went into the main break 32 points up.

Unfortunately the third quarter happened, which I was praying would not. Sydney completely outplayed Richmond and brought the margin back to 14 points at the end of the quarter. Grimes and Rance in the backline limited the damage to maintain the lead, thankfully.

What fun the final quarter was! Riewoldt starting with 2 goals (4 in total for the game), Grigg also finishing off the game impressively with 2 goals (3 for the game), and Deledio kicking a trademark bomb to end proceedings, with Richmond running out 29 points ahead.

Now bring on Dreamtime and Essendon – go Tiges!!

EDITORIAL

An excellent win for the Tigers on a cold afternoon/evening at the 'G. The PRE voters have turned out in response and Dylan Grimes has clearly been the favourite. His continued rise after his promising first few games last year has been astounding. He shows desperation, pace and composure in our defence and his growing understanding with Rance has made our backline look FAR better than it has in recent years. Grigg continues to poll well as he racks up possessions and this week added a couple of crunch goals in the final quarter to seal the match for Richmond. His top 4 ranking is a testament to his consistency this season and he has provided some much needed depth in our midfield. The opposition now ignore him at their own peril. Another Tiger that has added to the midfield depth is Nathan Foley whose return to vintage form has proven difficult to counter for opposition coaches. He is again collecting the hard ball and clearing the packs. When Grigg and Foley feature in our top 3 it bodes well for Tigers' future.

Two on the trot for the Tigers has set up an interesting clash this Saturday night for Dreamtime at the 'G. The crowd should be massive and I would LOVE to see to the Tigers knock off the Bombers and take them down a peg or two. Essendon are currently flying with only the one loss for the season and that by a solitary point, but it was the equivalent fixture last year that started the rot for them. Their fans are unbearable at the moment, so c'mon Tiges, let's silence them in the sweetest way possible.

Carn' the Tiges!

tough this week.

Hard to go past Maric with 9 marks in a brave solo effort in the ruck. Every week he looks more like Mark Lee.

3. Maric
2. Chimp
1. Deledio ( BOG for 3 quarters but disappeared in the last.)
