How he is still avaliable .... I do not know....

Andrew Raines!

Played every game in 06 and 07 averaging 19 disposals a game off the back flank. A golden pick up to squeeze into Tannerz XXII.

Has to be the bargain of the draft. I am astounded he has been taken this late.
An elite forward when fit, Robbo is still averaging 2 goals a game and at only 30 years of age(guitar playing aside :hihi), makes any team look better. Great get DD.

Meh!

Used to be a top medium-sized forward.

Now, well past his best, with steady decline over the last 3 years.
Nothing to suggest that his 2009 will differ from this.

There is actually a player or two left who came in the top 10 of their club’s b&F, but I’m going to go for a potential pick, a guy who you have to like his style of play if you saw him as a junior.

Veszpremi, Patrick

The interesting point to make here is that although we have had the FULL list of AFL players available, which includes Rookies, the observation is that when one gets to picks in the early 20s the list of truly ACTIVE players declines dramatically.

So, full AFL lists are around 44, yet only 21/22 of these are regular ACTIVE players. The rest are part-time / development players.

This also is very consistent with studies done that indicate an extremely positive skew in player success rates, ie, that a more than normal proportion of players drafted just DON'T make it as regular players.
By normal, I mean within the confines of a normal distribution, because it is NOT a normal distribution.

Not sure how you figure that Phantom when all his stats where slighty better than Welshes before he got injured, which in goal kicking alone would have put him in the 40+ group, Top 20 scorers.

No doubt he is declining but half or 3/4's his best is still better than a lot of the small forwards being picked in the last half of this draft when injury free.

It depends on what you population is Phato, they are normally distributed if you consider than the AFL players are just the very upper end of a huge bell cure of people who play Australian rules football. A positive skew is consistent when you consider that you are not sampling the whole bell cure, just one end of it.

What about your other pick?

Sorry, without doing any research I’m taking Alex Rance because he’s a Tiger and he’s performance in the VFL suggest he’s something special.

I think Tannerz has gone off now -

hes given me a list earlier.

Tannerz takes as his next available on his list.

Someone who is apparently burning up the training track - :hihi

Leigh Fisher.
