Tigers vs Box Hill Dawks

Which is good, but more importantly, hunted the ball.

Don't know the stats, but the eye test says he had it a bit, and earned a few clearances too.

Creative and lively.
Just looked it up. 23 disposals, 7 tackles. Used it well. Great game!

unlucky loss by 3 pts :-(
sonsies smothered inside 50 kick our last chance.
Biggie's poor disposal cost us some I50 oppo's
How many times did they smother our attempted kicks inside 50 :cautious: seemed to happen a few times throughout the game!

would be interesting to see ralphsmiths stats on turnovers and score involvements. He strikes me as a momentum killer, looks so good with ball in hand and yet seems to lack footy IQ and nous

Just as an aside, cause I thought this was weird. Cumberland and Rioli are both doing sprints and full field laps after the game. Crazy considering they were two of the most involved players!

Cant all be left to one forward
Need Bradtke and the rest of the forwards to lift
Agreed, was just talking about Cumberland alone. Other forwards were non-existent from what I saw. Really annoyed that Bradke and others played from behind in Q4 and allowed easy rebounds out. When the game was there to be won.
Cumberland did what l hoped - played a full game.

Just on that last f50 that Cumbo nearly marked, there was a strong possibility that had Bauer been playing he might have marked that ball and had a third shot after the siren.

Terrible by Biggy!
Allow the hawks to kick a goal in the last 10 seconds
His disposal can be really sloppy. HBs are shocking at times. Another tall that may be a wasted investment. Some athletic traits in the air especially but lacks the finesse. Would kill the team with turnovers at AFL level.

I reckon Maurice has had a good day in the midfield. Something to build from.
Looked much bettera as a mid, as was his father. Not sure he has the goal sense or speed of mind to play SF and kick is not strong either.

Way too easy transition from Box Hill there.
Yes their GP worked. Ours is archaic and inefficient. Hawks only to press for our regular TOs by hand or foot (also lot of smothers) kick it to a forward in an open FL. Then kick enough easy set shots.
Simple to unravel our old predictable GP.

Some real positive, good signs by some of our kids.

Dud. Delist.

Good clearance player by the look of it. Something needed at Tigerland...

A couple of vfl teams look in big trouble in the bullants and coburg.
The bullants in particular are nowhere near it at the moment. They lost 4-161 yesterday to the dogs and have a combined score of 38-467 in the last 3 weeks.
These two plus Frankston as well may well have to go. 5 wins between the 3 of them for the season and they only afl team they beat was the swans when they basically had no spare afl listed players earlier in the season.

Someone posted a tremendous article about this.
I think its this:

At its crux is the player payments. Coburg playing 25% of the salary cap.

FWIW i went to the frankston v swans match. The swannies had a number of afl players, including tom hickey, dylan stephens, corey warner, will gould (off the top of my head).
But all 3 clubs struggling to compete at the vfa level
