Definitely an odd pick, although it makes you think about where they see players like a Chol, CCJ, etc playing on field.
One thing about rucks is that theyre always a commodity down the track if they show signs, so could be some shrewd future moves out of our tall group

Looks like Soldo, having scalped Grundy, wearing his man-bun as a trophy. Vigorous, an essential quality in a ruck.
As craig said, Soldo's knee might be car-crash bad. Maybe he struggles to get back, certainly next year is a write-off.

Haven't seen any footage, just read that he has incredible agility at ground level for his size, "does things he shouldn't be able to do". This has tended not to be a useful trait at AFL level.
Maybe CCJ is being groomed as a forward and Samson is the new ruck? Otherwise a bit of a mystery why we chose him.
Is there a trend of teams getting taller to counter the running game? Maybe, but we seem to be doing both tall and fast with a combination of players. This should be interesting.
