Is Lithuania a geopolitical North Melbourne?

Never ventured to these parts of the site before.

Whatever the motivation, I'm liking what Lithuania is doing vis a vis Taiwan and China.

Is this tiny country (a) taking a principled stand; (b) doing the bidding of others, maybe acting as some kind of proxy or canary in the cage for the EU; or (c) just being a geopolitical North Melbourne?

Interested in your thoughts.

I don't really have any thoughts on Lithuania,

I couldn't tell you which continent it is on, or what their views are on China,

But its my new favourite off-season thread. (anyone remember the time Rosy locked the midget piñata thread at the height of its entertainment, because @fastin bulbous used a Yolgnu word for wasps? :rotfl1)

I'll take a stab at c)

and nominates the Scott Twins to be co-presidents of Lithuania

and *smile* off out of our lives.

I had a Latvian girlfriend about 20 years ago. Sweet, beautiful girl. Blonde. (I'm traditionally a brunettes man.) We met at a bar on Chapel St.

"Where are you from?"
"Latvia."
"Oh. I thought you were going to say South Yarra." (It was loud, I missed the accent at first.)
"I live in Toorak."

In love with me (made me mix tapes), but I was in love with at least two other women (brunettes). "I'm crossing out your number so I won't keep calling you," she said. "If you like me you will call me."

I did like her. But I didn't love her. And I didn't call.

Years later I thought I saw her at the movies. But I didn't find out. We were both with other people. Lovely girl, hope she's happy.

Lithuania is near Latvia. I think.

They punch above their weight at basketball I think.

And apparently it’s where most of our Lithium comes from.

Saw the thread title and had to pop my head in for a look - and then go check on Lithuania V China.

:clap2 Gotta love a little dog that is not afraid to scrap.

Does that mean Richmond are Russia? A traditional powerhouse that peaked in the 1960s-70s before rusting into decrepit insignificance in the 1980s onwards. Then bursting back onto the scene in recent years with renewed enthusiasm and vigour.

About 30 years ago, I had a German girlfriend , a lovely fraulein who used to rate my lovemaking ability & score me 1 to 10.

One particular night, going hammer & tong I accidentally stuck it in her bum

NEIN NEIN NEIN she screamed

However hard I tried , I could never get a 10

:)

Beleiving Lithuania and Germany shared a border is an innocent mistake.

what was the score?

I used to work with Lithuanian bloke in Moorabbin in the late 80s. Jeez could he drink, unbelievable. He played junior footy with Dipper, they had a lot of stoushes at training. Good tennis player too, beat McNamee a few times.
