Draft prospects 2019

Well that first round threw up some curve balls.

There is some serious talent still left on the board.

Dow only turned 18 in October. So similar to Turner needs another year to get to same levels as the older kids.

We have time to let them develop. Good position weare in

I loved Paddy Dow at his draft but Carlton have the worst development program of nearly every club. No wonder Paddy hasnt come on, or many of his teamates either.

Thomson has lightning fast hands. That is clearly evident in his short highlight reel.

I think we have the Dow with more Wow!
When I had a look at his highlight reel - brief as it is - these hands made me think of one other player: Shane Edwards.

same, I’m shattered. That first pick tomorrow nite has so much currency.

I’m with you Scoop although I almost feinted when they left Worrell on the table. On a needs basis, he’s exactly what we need. Saying that there must be a knock on him as many before us have passed on him also.

Borefest, as many others have pointed out. Did I really record it in case I wanted to watch it again?

Best line of the night, can’t remember if it was King or Johnson, talking to fill in the dead air as they waited for our pick who said: “there must be hundreds of kids sitting in their lounge rooms going, ‘Pick me, pick me.’”

Funny coz it’s true.

The 20’s are looking really strong. With Robertson, Worrall, Bianco, Rivers, Jones, Rantall, Gould , Williams, Taylor, Sharp and Schoenberg likely to go somewhere around there it probably looks as good, talent-wise as the teens were. Can we jag another pick from someone? Will one of these players slide all the way to our second? Another interesting evening ahead, though probably best followed on draft tracker while doing something else rather than on TV.

I was out so recorded it. Came back after 8.30pm and played the recording on x12 and watched the little box in the left hand corner. It updated every 20seconds with a new name.

Perfect way to watch it so I found out. Will try that again tonight.

Looked to me like we were trying to find a buyer for our pick. Probably thinking we could get Dow a bit later and add another pick to the bargain.

Dow looks a Richmond player - explosive and has great hands. Look forward to the extended highlights package.

Yeah we could have imo he would have still been on the board at our later picks and if he wwas not its not like we were missing out on Dusty ,
Rivers , Worrell , Robertson , Jones , Sharp , Rantall , Taylor , Ralphsmith , Hilder.

North are going to smash this draft with their next 4 picks

I would seriously offer north or Adelaide 2020 1st rounder+#41 for their 2 20's picks

so a potential 15-20 future pick worth say 1050 + 412 (our 41) = 1462 against Adelaide 22 & 23 worth 1670 , they would larf as would NM 26 & 27 worth 1432

I agree. Most likely if there is a player there that we want, we will need to offer them our 1st next year for one of those picks. With all the academy / F/S picks next year it could end up around the same spot anyway. I'd probably do it to nab Worrall. I think Robertson will be off to Brisbane.

They were the two that I was licking my chops about. I'm even more disappointed today. Flat as a pancake.

Come on Scoop I expected u to be one of the last people of here to fall victim to the phantom draft hype.

Both Worrell and Robertson were passed over by 14 clubs last night and a number of them multiple times.

Dow's NAB League stats for this year:

28 disposals (15 kicks 13 handballs) 8 marks 2 tackles 2 goals
24 disposals (11 kicks 13 handballs) 4 marks 4 tackles 1.1
9 disposals (5 kicks 4 handballs) 2 marks 1 tackle 1.2
24 disposals (8 kicks 16 handballs) 6 marks 1 goal
23 disposals (7 kicks 16 handballs) 2 marks 5 tackles

Those stats, along with his agility and as a bottom ager, means that all is not so bad IMO.

Yep, Balmey said the other night that KPD was the list deficiency when asked
