Welcome Liam Baker

Good get. Another player that can apply fwd pressure. Laid something like 19 tackles in the wafl finals last year

Surely there was Taller player like Krueger or a bugger bodied mid? His highlights look very underwhelming. A kid that small needs some serious tricks. I didn’t see any.

Perhaps 176cm? http://www.wafl.com.au/players/view/6106
About 5'10'' in old language, about 1cm taller than KB!
Another quick, pressure forward. Don't we have enough already?
Need to trust their judgement to support both our AFL and VFL teams I guess.

Not sure why people are complaining. This is the way the game is heading. Glad we got another one.

Inside footy draft issue has him 173.

Its the rookie draft, we have 2 big bodied inside types now if not more and after the national draft talls are not a priority.

We're really stocking up on small, creative players. Highlights look good. i like that he is a lefty (and can kick on his right foot going by one of those beautiful passes he did), gives us something different, all our other smalls are right-footers. Looks like a nice little neat footballer.

Seems to prefer his right foot in a set shot for goal and when he has a chance to steady and make a preferred choice, but his left side seems equally effective. Nice left foot snap goal from a stoppage. Seems to be playing as a mid/fwd (rover). Like the way he evades trouble and tries to break tackles yet still has his hands free to get a handball away. Just received my copy of "Yellow and Black" by Konrad Marshall today and 'Ch.39 Chest to Contest' describes the value the coaches place on 'fighting through tackles' so Liam is playing just the way they want and probably one of the reasons we drafted him.

My oldest son was an elete athlete and a tackling machine and at 175cm was considered too small for AFL was 2 years ahead of the curve. Some of the kids now on AFL lists he shut down. If you get an opportunity on an AFL list grab your opportunity with both hands.
