Im not convinced that we are the team to beat anymore this year.
I haven't got the same confidence leading into games with everything that has happened.
The 8 weeks off, the shorter game time and not playing at the G in front of the supporters.
From the outside we look like we have lost 'The eye of the tiger"
Hardwick seems to cover to this with cheap ass excuses week in week out. From blaming the dew, the interruption and last weekend the stacking of the backline by Sydney.
He looks flustered and annoyed, similiar to the way he was in 2016.
He needs to get back to coaching and creating new plans because the game plan we had looks like its been found out.
Agree or not??

Agree Zipps.

Either he counters this tactic quick or our season will be done shortly.

Players from the outset look void of confidence, forward of centre. Our backline has saved us in most games under so much pressure.

Im hoping that in this hub, shortly they rediscover the missing 'link' to find our 'mojo' and the forward line clicks.

We will find out more in the next few weeks cause we are not coming back to Melb, the MCG or to our fans(crowds).....

I reckon it would be a natural reaction to the *smile* storm that is 2020.

Hard enough to keep the required intrinsic hunger going with 2 out of last 3 in the back pocket, let alone dealing with the stop/start, here/there/everywhere and injury plagued season we find ourselves in.

Its round 6 and we just lost seven senior players. Having learnt from last year, I am not prepared to call the season for another 2 months (assuming footy is still being played).

My recollection of 2017, was we couldn't kick more than 60 points for months,

then in the last 6 weeks, we couldn't kick less than 120.

I know the times are strange and all that, but people are completely forgetting all about our gears

yep. Ive successfully punted the dynasty and my take home message for aspiring tiger punting magnates out there is:

dont even bother looking at the form guide until after round 12, which would be round 8 this year.

and I propose that if the tigers are better than 4:4, and the GF isnt played on kardina park or the SCG, which is highly unlikely, we'll win the flag.

Hugh Bowman used to have Winx out 3 wide at the half way mark of most races

Damien Oliver the same on Doriumus

this season has proved that there is no easy win. there is so much going on and everyone is struggling to deal with the unique circumstances. we only need to focus on staying in touch with the top 4. we will get better as the season progresses.

We'll find out a bit this week. Reckon we'll have our hands full with North.
We generally do. Our recent record against them is not very good. They beat us last year and we won in 2017 & 2018. But prior to that we hadn't beaten them since 2011. They seem to match up really well on us.

I'm a lot more confident now that the game isn't at Marvel. they are always very strong there.

I think not prioritizing elite kicking or a game style that relies on it is a big reason as to why we are in trouble right now. Teams lick their lips when they know it's going to be bomb it forward at all costs.

This is the year when a team will win the Cup from eighth. We need to hang in, get our troops back and launch like Chautauqua at the end. We haven't started too well but we're not left standing in the gates either and our best is better than the rest.

Got dudded by selectors against Hawkers & Saints by selection of one recognized ruckmen so gotta go with two for rest of the season. Jack in the Box in a pocket !!. Should start at centre half & stay there. Team starting to pick up the pump even with The Great Houli & Titch n/a so Damian just gets has to get selection right.

But he dosent win races sitting in the stalls.
Doriumus is the horse we need to be,
Keep the tempo.
Don't lose ground,
Sit near the fence,
Let him go at the 400,
Get him to line.
Doriumus wins the CUP :cupgold

I backed Doriemus, when he won the cup and when he ran fourth:(, but 3 time winner Makybe Diva is who we need to be.

This is true Binman although my confidence is somewhat eroded by our very average form this season. North is not in good form either but for some reason they always seem to save their best for us; they usually smash us in the midfield battle.

Too early to make any call on this season. We don't even know if the season will be completed.

What we do know that we are 6 games into a 17 game season and we are sitting in the 8. Games are not going the way they traditionally do and teams are winning against the odds. So far that has resulted in a ladder that has 17th only one game out of the 8 and two games from 2nd. Plenty more twists to come.

So have to win at least 6 of the remaining 11 games to be a chance at the 8 and then work from there.

The end of the season and finals will be played in the warmer months and the grounds will be harder if they play in the northern states or WA. We will also have the injured players back and we have given the kids like Balta a decent run at it.

Liking our chances but have to keep winning - obviously

Agree...but I think it comes down to manic pressure which we have been the best at over the last 3 years. I have no idea how they work out the pressure rating but apparently we were 1.67 over round 2-4 and 1.82 in rd 5...which apparently is a significant increase??? I would be interested to know what is the winning % of teams who win the pressure rating...I bet it is very high. Bring back the manic pressure for starters and we are a chance.

I think not playing at the MCG in front of us is also a big factor from a motivation point of view.
