Greg Miller continually states that he is 100% behind Danny and that Danny will be coach in 2004.

I'm not sure how that kind of thing works. Is the coaching situation decided by Miller? I'd find that very strange.

Surely it would be a board decision?

Can the board call a vote on whether they think a contract should be terminated, ie a show of no faith in the coach?

Who is responsible for choosing a coach? Would that be Miller, or a board vote or a special committee set up for the purpose?

I can't see anything happening that Danny won't be around next year, but I really don't understand how those decisions are made.

Do the board have the power to make their own reccomendation too though and decide to call a vote?

It was a condition that Miller came to Richmond that Danny coached next year.?
Get rid of BOTH of them at the end of the year I say.

Yes they could

and I just noticed I have hit 800 posts

Maybe if the board are too scared to make a tough decision, they could ask for a vote from all PRE members.

We can make the tough decisions for them

;)

At some clubs supporters are able to sway the board to sack a coach. Also sometimes ;) the President tries to save his backside by getting rid of the coach. ;) ;D

Haha evo. All's fair in love and war.  I found that one the other day while I was looking for some parodies.  It's a bummer not having a search function, but interesting what you find if you have to go through all the pages to find what you want.  Easy to get sidetracked. :D

As football director, Miller would have a pretty big say in the coaching stakes. It's like most companies - the board members have little or no idea about the day to day stuff & get brought upto speed by their consultants & advisors. The board will eventually have the ultimate say, but it will be based on what Miller has to say. He is obviously trying to build the RFC into a stable club (sacking will be out of the question), but he knows as well as the rest of us that Danny won't be there in 2005. As long as Miller is doing the groundwork in the background for the new coach, fine by me
