So who are the Tiger Legends, can they be counted on One Hand. Are any current players legends already?

Basically

1. Name the Legend.

2. What are their stats.

3. Personal Highlights.

If they aren't a worthy Legend, then don't even mention em.

I will kick it off with Kevin Bartlett

403 Games Many Goals

Fondest memory are of that whispy haired stick figure kicking a bag full in 1980 GF

Richooooooooooo

I nominate Matthew Richardson as a Tiger Legend.  He's an absolute icon of the club.

He's the entertainer who's kept the fans going over a very lean period.

Even when the team has been rock bottom we'd go to games knowing the big fella was capable of anything on any given day.

He never gave less than 100% effort and we were rewarded with breathtaking brilliance more often than not.

I don't think you can say this about too many players but I think our club's future survival will be largely due to Matthew Richardson.

The kids idolise him and all the #12's stuck on the back of little jumpers indicate a carry on of support by the next generation. Something that would be severely at risk if we had to keep kid's interest based on on-field team results.

Matches-216
Goals 644 (av 3 per game)
Marks 1641 (av 7.6)
Numerous goal kicking awards.
Regular high finisher in the b&f count missing 1st this year by a whisker.

So proud you're a tiger Matty. :hearton

Im with you rosey...richo is a legend...nothing i like more than spending a weekend watching the big fella smash oppisition full backs... :clap :clap

I personally feel that the phrase 'Legend' is incorrectly widely used.
Legend should distinguish a player ABOVE the phrase/ thoughts of a 'champion.'

The people who fall into the title would include Ryce Hart, Francis Bourke, Vic Thorp, Jack Titus, Dale Weightman.

I personally wouldn't consider Matthew Richardson as a 'legend' of the club, however I feel he we be close to being recognised as a 'champion player'

However, on the other side of things, I can understand why current supporters would deem RIcho as a 'Legend'
I dont think any current player is deemed a legend.

Rhett Bartlett.

To me a legend ican be more than a champion player. Richo has done as much off the ground as on it in his time at Tigerland and I think he's the main person from recent years whose name will live in in folklore in years to come. The kids of today haven't had a lot else to excite them and I reckon they'll be telling their grandkids the legend of Matty Richardson in years to come.

I think Tommy Hafey is a legend too despite the fact he wasn't a champion player for us.

A bloke called Jack Dyer is also a possibility.  :police:

Fair player, reasonable coach and not bad in the media either.

Stuck around the joint for a while as well.

I would like to ad Kevin Bartlett who more than paid his dues I reckon,a dead set legend....
Dicky Clay,Billy Barrott, and Michael Roach, who,at his peak, was the equal of anyone with his prodigious and accurate kicking and high marking....and kevin Sheedy.......he was sensational in finals.....cheers!
