So we can't afford to pay out Danny and his assistants even if we wanted to?

The way the season is heading we are on track for another hefty loss.
Low attendances, negative press, poor skills, lack of endeavour and committment etc, etc will ensure Corn Chips Casey will eat his words from late last year about our supposed financial position after the end of this season.

Can someone please explain where the money will come from to pay our new prospective coach?

We have already asked the AFL for an advance of the competitive balance fund (to the tune of $2.5 million),
Corn Chips has put in @$1.3 million to keep us going, on top of a loss last year of almost $900,000.

The financial report for last year stated:

Likely developments and Expected Results of Operations:
It is expected based on the 2004 budget that the consolidated entity (being RFC) will make a small profit, the size of which will depend on the level of profitability of gaming and club facilities and the on-field performance of the football team.

Further information on likely developments in the operations of the consolidated entity and the expected results of operations have not been included in this report because the Directors believe it would be likely to result in unreasonable prejudice to the consolidated entity[/b]

We are in an absolute mess financially, on the field, at board level, in coaching and in on field leadership.
FFS get the ball rolling now and start to turn things around.
Make the announcement now about frawley not coaching next year.

great post tigerjoe.

However, I am sure reading something earlier this year that the club was expecting a loss this year.

I cant understand why the club hasnt sold the gaming club in Studd Rd.  It is poorly managed and losing money too quick.

Maybe the answer is place every player on a performance based contract.  90% of the team would be playing for free.

Shame we must pay a minimum of the salary cap.

tigerjoe if the club signs the right coach I don't think it would be an issue as they would pay for themselves with sponsorship and increased membership.

I think you are wrong however stating that Casey has put in $1.3M as he only provided this as a guarantee for the clubs overdraft (now replaced by the AFL's $2.5M redirection).

Don't also forget that all of us as club members Guarantee the debts of the club (to the tune of $50 each)

Were can the money come from well that is easy a loan of Darren *smile* might work :D and they can take him with them to were ever they go

.......
Firstly, Casey has NOT put in a cent, no matter what is either inferred - or mis-reported - in the media.

We haven't asked the AFL for a cent extra (yet), only a bank guarantee based on the money we will eventually receive from the AFL at the end of the season.

When our current coach leaves, we will have a competitive amount of cash to offer any prospective coach - especially if we "rationalise" (that means prune out) the numerous other well paid staff in our Football Department than don't seem to have made much positive difference to our on-field performances.

There isn't much point spending over $1M more in our Football Department (post 2000 season) if we aren't getting any tangible benefit from that extra outlay.

That is almost as bad as a club paying the maximum Salary Cap outlay over the past 8 seasons for woeful results.......

Want to buy a couple of H's there? Going cheap!

Sign Sheedy as Coach = 40000 members =an extra $2mil in the bank. Problem solved.

Its amazing how simple it could be Josh isnt it?
Everyone that has issues with where the money will come from, easily forgets that proactive, positive appointments in positions that matter, actually do create this type of revenue.

I agree 100% David C. The misrepresentation of what has taken place just to sell papers or push agendas is disgusting.

While my thoughts on getting Sheedy back to the club have varied if managed well could well provide an incredible boost.

If and when it becomes apparent that we can't make the finals the club should move mountains to get Sheedy back to the club.

I'M TIRED OF HEARING PEOPLE WINGE ABOUT GETTING SHEEDY!
SHEEDY IS NOT COMING BACK TO RICHMOND TO COACH!
HE NEVER WILL!
STOP SAYING WE NEED SHEEDY!

Seven you are probably right that he will not come back.

However I stand by my comments and please don't shout I can hear you perfectly well.
