Which players could either Hardwick or Hinkley bring with them from their current club?

Harwick
Boyle
Dowler
Muston
Thorpe
McGlynn
Taylor

Hinkley
Blake
Djerrkura
Gamble
Laidler
Scott Simpson
Tenace
West

Off-field staff.

Hopefully Hinkley can bring Sanderson and possibly Balme.

Not sure what job Balme could do though.

Both will bring new fitness staff too hopefully.

Don't want any of those players. What's the go with Thorpe? How has he been performing in the VFL?

The thought occurred to me the other day, during me long drive, that got me thinking about the whole 'new coach bringing their assistants to our great club. Firstly I thought back to Tezza bringing along his yes men in Royal and King and the additional damage these two have wrought throughout our playing list - I still remember going to training sessions only to watch King taking pot shots at goal and chatting to any player that would listen to him... anyway, getting back on track. This made me wonder whether coaches should be given this ability or if the club should play the major part in deciding (in consultation with said coach) which assistants should be brought to the club.

Thoughts?

You noticed it too then.

Wallace's only real training session was the 2004/05 pre-season where he made the players (especially the kids in Lids, Bling, Polo etc..) gut run in the heat, but as the new season arrived, the intensity of weekly training died down so much that every training session became a 'kick in the park' for players and coaches.

I'm more interested in the game plan, structure, culture, development and if we want to talk about personnel, off field staff...than I am players the new coach can bring to the club.

You won't get Clarkson releasing players like Muston, Dowler or McGlynn easily either for the record. The rest you named I'd have little interest in anyway.

Interesting names there Madcow.

We don't want Taylor though.
He gives away more free kicks than Charles Manson and Jack The Ripper combined! :hihi
He only needs to step onto footy field and umpires blow whistle!

How about professionalism from both of them? The knowledge of what needs to be done as a coach for your team to play and win finals football.

None. It is not local footy.

Yep.

Draft, draft, draft baby!

Djukerra looked good however he has obviously come on.........Muston would be the only Hawk Id like but with 3 reco's :-\

Ken just bring some of the weights boys up and get them training a few of the boys in need of a good feed.

Lets have them all looking like the Cats do by this time next year. Hasn't effected the cats for speed, so don't know why Wallace was so reluctant to have em pump a bit of iron.

Djerkurra for pick 90ish if Hinkley
Taylor and Boyle for pick 110ish if Hardwick

They can both bring many many preseason sessions involving weights, sand-dunes, triathlons and taibo for a laugh

why would he want any player more physically attractive than his good self?

PLEASE! BETTER FITNESS AND CONDITIONING STAFF!!! And some development coaches for the young blokes.

Was thinking that if Hinkley got the job he might bring 'Buddha' Hocking, from the Geelong Falcons, as an assistant coach.

would be a coup as he has good record with the Falcons and in developing youth.

he also has great skills and could teach the midfield how to play with an actual gameplan
