Well there is already a thread about our worst days, and this board seems to be always negative, so i thought id try and sneak a positive in.. ;D

The most recent positives imo, is when we came from behind to beat the Hawkers and Thrashed essendon earlier in the year. ;D

Without a doubt, beating the bummers in the 1995 finals series - it had everything, Turner going nuts, Maxfield squaring up with Grenvold etc..and I got lucky that night as well so a great day all round ;)

1995 Qualifying Final Against The Bummers.
The game had it all.
Knighter great goals on the run.
Scotty fixing up O,Donnell.
Even Rogers kicking goals,am I imaging that ?
I will just pinch myself, YES he kicked towo goals in the last quarter on Thompson and sealed the game.

Might just add Justin Charles first game back from the 16 week suspension, took a specky in the goal square and showed the ball to the crowd, great stuff, I think he only had three kicks for the game. the crowd went nuts that day. It was a great grab !

It was beating the bummers in 1995 finals (brilliant). Matty Knights running through the centre, Scotty Turner clocking O'Donnell then going back to the London Tavern and celebrating singing the theme song about 20 times (very special)!!

When KB was sacked, Walls was toasted, Geischen was shafted and hopefully to top the lot, Spud to be deep fried!!!

The round 22 game at the OO where our season was shot and we came from behind to knock Carlton out of the finals.
The Carlton fans were celebrating the win a tad prematurely and their silence as we hit the front was deafening, ha.
How good it was to see grown men crack them and hop off the tram cos they couldn't take listening to the Tigers theme song. ;D

1995 Second Semi against Essendon. That game had almost everything. Great goals, big hits, huge marks, controversy and a comeback.

Knights kept us in the game during the first half and Daffy, Naish, Turner and a little bit of Rogers won the game for us in the second half.

Yeah obviously the 95 final against the bombers.

One that I'll never forget, as I was back in Victoria on holidays, was the 1995 game against North Melbourne at the M.C.G.
We kicked about 11 goals in the 1st quarter, and absolutely flogged them. I think we had about 4 goals on the board and the roos had only touched the ball something like 6 times.

Spot on Tigerman - those 2 games stand out the most for me. The North game was good, it was Round 4, we were 3 - 0 and 62,000 turned up, 60,000 of those were Richmond supporters and we went ape.

What a shame it's been 8 years and we we're no where near closer to a grand final than that year!

Aaah '95'.

The game we drew against the bombers during that season would have been pretty special had we managed victory. We'd came off a 5 day break, conceded them a 5 goal lead in the opening term, and had half our side out including Scotty Turner for what the reporting umpire admitted was "Accidental" contact that broke Ratten's nose the week before.

It's pretty sad when just about every highlight for the last 20 years come from one season. :(

....and Rampaging Richo, i can't remember getting lucky SINCE that season - and i don't drink so i'm pretty sure it's not just lack of memory.

Yes that was my favortie as well and I was actualyl there which made it even better. We had a boys weekend trip to Melbourne back in my uni days and that was a great weekend.
Jason Torney's first game if i remember, adn the fight with Maxfield and Michael Gale was my highlight of that game. ANd i think Merenda kicked 5 for the reserves as well and i thought he had a huge future.

Great weekend.

I agree with Rosy in that beating Carlton is always a special pleasure - well, it was more so when they had Elliot at the helm as the epitome of all evil and they were continually successful. So I'd put the 2001 final right up there as well.

And I've never forgotten beating them in the midst of one our worst seasons back in the 80s. It was a massive upset and I have some footage etched in my brain of Peter Wilson doing handstands in celebration. Back then we supporters had absolutely no expectations, so it seemed all the more sweeter than now, when we seem to think that Richmond should actually be up there.

Ahh, memories.
Just love beating the poo-boys.
That 2001 final was sweeeet.

Mothers Day Massacre in 1991 got me following footy again after coming back from overseas.

Great day in the history of the Richmond Football Club. We did it with duds like Keays and Mrakov. Made it even better.
