Only 15000+ crowd.

A flattering scoreline.

Port Adelaide showed no respect to the loss of our immortal, only one player wore a black armband.

They have finally worn me down, I am flat as a tack :'(

Pathetic is too good a word, no skills whatsoever.

A bigger slap in the face i felt was P.A. not singing their club song as this win was "nothing special". Total lack of repect from them considering what circumstances the game was played under. Williams can kiss my @ss, lets hope we see another choke in the finals like all the other years

Did Mark Williams say the win was "nothing special" or are those your words fox.

Not singing the club song after the game is also disrespectful to their own supporters. I am surprised about that.

Agree Fox, hope that arrogant prick and his team lose in the first week of the finals again. That they didn't bother to wear black arm bands is also a disgrace. They've just overtaken Collingwood and Brisbane as the team I want to see lose the most in the finals.

Those were his words tiggytam. I didn't see his pre-match interview if one was given but, now that i think about it the only reference he made to captain blood was that we would be spurred on.
His fathers passing was given alot of airtime here in vic in regards to his efforts in S.A. footy and he didnt even have the decency to offer any condolences to our club or jack's family that i saw.
Whenever the poor old power is hard done by we all hear about it (the bulldog match springs to mind) worst of luck in the finals whinger williams and your team of snipers.

Here it is. SEnt htis to Brian Cunnigham. Dont think I described this the best I could have should I ahve spent more time on it, especially that of whinging about Williams but buggerit I am sick of Port.

Brian,

How are you today? As an Adelaide based Richmond supporter first of all I want to congratulate you on your win yesterday, you guys were far too good.

Now to the main points of my email.
1. Brian having heard you many times on 5AA with KG and Cornesy I do get the impression you are a genuine and great bloke so I have no problem with you personlly. I would like to know why your club guided by you found it totally unnecessary to disrespect the Richmond Football Club and an AFL Legend in general by failing to wear a black arm band in memory of the very sad death of the greatest Richmond player ever and indeed a guy that really personified Richmond and in my mind Jack Dyer was the Richmond Football Club. Todays players cannot possibly come close. How could you disrespect a great stalwart in such a way. To me it is borderline on disgraceful and jsut personifies why your club (incorporatiing Port Magpies here ) is by far and away the most hated in South Australia and possibly Australia. to jsut disregard our club and such a legend is disgraceful. Obviously your club is too self-obseessed to care about the effect a legend of th eclub and the AFL's death may have on Richmond supporters and players.
2. Mark Williams is a disgrace. Howe can you let this guy talk in public and get away wiht saying the things that he says. Having had him briefly as a subsititute teacher at Scotch College during the early 1990's I found him to be despicable and above all others. He has this public persona aswell to all non Power fans. How can you let him be so arrogant and let him get away with saying after the game that it meant nothing and that Richmond are insignificant and he will only worry about them next year. Understandable I guess in a way as he is only focussed on the finals, but still it is disrespecting Richmond who have a great history in the AFL (compared to your 6 years). To be as arrogant as to say that virtually Richmond are insiginificant, mean nothing and to imply the players werent going full tilt to win this game is a disgrace. After Jack Dyer's death to say Richmond are insig nificant is a gisgrace. I look forward to the near future when your window of opportunity is gone and you cannot resign all your players when you are losing again and Mark Williams is back to his sooky best.

Anyway had to get this out of system, heres hoping that you respond to the question about the armband and why it was not worn except for one player. Richmond may not mean much to you, nor the tradition of the AFl considering you are the newbies to the competition, but the disrespect you have shown has even lowered further the opinion I have of your club and I look forward to the inevitability of you choking again in the finals so that your club and many of your feral fans get what they deserve. ANother broken heart like Richmond supporters have suffered for the last 20 years.

Just in case anyone else feels the same way.

Here's my efforts

Dear Brian,
I am writing to you in relation of the events surrounding the Richmond v Port match yesterday afternoon. Firstly I was disappointed to see your club not wearing armbands (bar 1 player for whatever reason) for the passing of our club great Jack Dyer. I think it was disrespectful of your club and players to not acknowledge a player who gave so much to the game that you have recently been part of regardless, of the player in questions team or state allegiance. When your coaches father died a lot of credit was given to his achievements in S.A. footy by way of the media of all forms here in Victoria thus it appeared your coach as spokesman really couldn’t give a toss about apart from it spurring our side on in this particular match to victory seemed to be his only concern.

Secondly in relation to the club song not being sung that was whoever is in charge their prerogative but, for your coach’s statement that the win “was not anything special” was a complete slap in the face to myself and other members of the Richmond football club including the RFC and J. Dyers family who the match im sure would have been an emotional day/weekend. We supporters of the tigers are in no way in denile to our clubs current and past predicament of the past two decades but, make no mistake we extremely proud of our club’s history or record in the AFL/VFL and are passionate and proud of the jumper and the players who wear that jumper and did not deserve such a flagrant display of arrogance or lack of tact that your club and coach showed to the RFC as well as your own supporters re the song. Rivalry is always healthy in sport and enjoyed by all yet, I did not view any events that I have highlighted as even close to resembling that but that of thoughtlessness and the VIC/S.A (if that’s what the attempt?) was not thought through or carelessly handled. Whenever your club is dealt a short straw or a sour grape we are constantly bombarded by press snippets of Mark Williams demanding respect, fair play (sniping incident W bulldogs),E. Mcguire and his jumper or collingwood relinquish the jumper, draft concessions, salary cap etc. his whining and sooking will go unheeded on my front I can assure you. I wonder what would of happened had Danny Frawley shown the same to him regarding his father’s passing im sure it would be front page news over there and much baying for his blood.

All I ask in future is the same respect that our club has shown yours be returned and noted. Disrepecting our past champions and other clubs champions will not earn you any respect or support for your clubs cause here in Victoria. Thank you if you actually read this letter Brent Fox
