Got it on DVD, KB loves to celebrate a goal (as long as it's his goal)

"Oh they're making Collingwood look like hacks!"

Haven't heard the ABC call before, but I'm liking it.

Have a look at how easy the flow of the game was with no hype, how easier the umpires were with tackles and players touching them and also how easy we can read the guernsey numbers on Richmond players.

We should darken the yellow on the sash a bit and place larger numbers on the back.

Agree. Mind boggling that we can't read the numbers today. It was Harry's fault.

Yeah not a zone in sight. Skills are generally far worse than today though; players are often just throwing the ball on the boot in the general direction of the goals. You're right about the numbers, the yellow is much brighter these days.

Just saw Bourke dispute a free kick and no 50 was given..... ;D

Just watched the first quarter and a bit. How quickly did the ump come in and bounce the ball - amazing. And I think we should bring back the yellow boots.... :hihi

The game might be more athletic nowadays, but only KB was a weed in our team back then. Have a look at the size of the old boys compared to the weeds we have now.

Other sports are the same from this era and earlier - no showboating, people just got on with the game. No slow over rates in those days.

We were ahead of time with football fashion.....geez PUMA yellow boots.

I don't think Jack was happy to see those ;D.

and the skill level of that 1980 team was far above what we have now at richmond.

amazing isn`t it how far the game has come yet the current richmond team`s skill level is nowhere near what it was 30 years ago.

what i`d give to have players in our current team with the kicking skills of weightman, bartlett, wiley, roach, jess and co.
