US SPORTS

If it's the right season. Go watch an NHL match. No better live sport in the world I reckon.

Stubhub is pretty good. Any major league sport would be good. I watched NBA and NHL and both were great atmosphere

Went to a baseball match in LA last year. We bought the tickets from the Dodgers' website before we left home.
I know I am biassed because I like baseball, but you might find any other sport outrageously expensive.
The MLB teams play a game a day - end result being the tickets don't cost much. We got them for about 20-30 USD each.

i'll be in LA in September and want to catch a baseball game - Angels will be playing at home. Is it better/cheaper to get the tix from their website or stubhub?
Also, which section/s do you recommend? Where were your seats located?

Thanks mate

In my case it was the Dodgers. And I can't compare the websites because I never looked at stubhub - never even heard of it. I just went to the Dodgers' website and ordered them there.
I did book well advance. Just checked my details and I ordered 4 tickets on March 13 for a game on August 1. The seats were 20 USD each and with a booking fee and taxes the whole thing came to 105 USD.

One thing I will say is that there is enormous variance depending on the quality of the seats. We got the cheapest but if you want you could pay up to about 135 USD per seat for something right behind home plate. We are not keen fans of course and were just doing it for the experience, so we got the cheapest seats possible. We were in the highest bleachers but it was right behind (and well above) home plate. But I was very pleasantly surprised at how close we appeared to be anyway. I guess comparing it to cricket and footy at the G, it felt much closer. I would highly recommend this cheap option.

A warning about buying food there ... it's not cheap although not outrageous for such events, but IT TAKES FOREVER. I made the mistake of volunteering to go and get some hot-dogs etc for the family and I missed three full innings!

Go take a look at Stubhub website. Within minutes you can click on the interactive map for your game venue and it will give you a price for that seat. Its were members sell their seats when they cant use them. Btw, i am not a Stubhub employee, just a satisfied customer.

When buying a seat thru stubhub , how do you get your tickets?

Which other sports CC? It'll be all NBA and MLB by then. Forget Richmond, just enjoy the springtime in the US. ;D

Watch AFL is the AFL's inmternational streaming service. Works well. You can pay by the month if you want. Just need a decent internet connection. I believe most KFC's in the US have free WiFi.
