Anyone here play Travian?

It's a free online game which is like a simplified Age of Empires. Each player has a village for which they build up resources and buildings. You can play peacefully or wage war with other players, alliances can be formed for increased strenghth and security, and so on.

It's great fun, and very addicted. I play it with a number of my friends and we all love it. A few of them are people you wouldn't expect to like it which to me shows the strength of the game. It's something that you can spend as much or as little time on as you want.

A new server started just today, so everyone's starting from scratch here, would be a great place for beginners to start. If you want to play go here: http://s2.travian.com/

I'm in the south east corner and would love to start an alliance with any of you who want to play. I'd suggest playing as Romans if you haven't played before, they're probably the most well rounded of the three tribes (the other two being Gauls and Teutons).

We've got a fair few playing now, but new players are always welcome. At this stage it looks like we'll be a force to be reckoned with, newcomers will have our protection and add to our strength :fing32

Excellent, let us know your user name and village coordinates, then we can have an idea of where we are if we need to help each other out.

I'm Carus, and the village (hopefully soon to be city) of Londinium is located at (53|-15). The servers are generally pretty big worlds so we might be some distance apart, but we can still work together.

Once I've got enough resources I'll build an embassy which will allow me to set up an alliance, if you build your own embassy I can send you an invitation to join, don't worry too much about that at the start though, better off upgrading resources and building you granary and warehouse.
 
Definitely a big bonus to have us all so close together, if we need to send troops or resources to each other it won't take so long, hopefully we could end up being quite a superpower.
 
just near me at 64l-9 is an interesting town. might be otis? whaddya reckon?
