RFC4eva is also Prez of Tivva. But these are my thoughts..
Greg's performances over the past 3 weeks have been very pleasing, and have reiterated a long held belief with current day Tiger fans - If Tivendale plays well, the Tigers win - I am a subscriber to this theory, have been for about 4 years.
The drive he provides into the forward 50 is as good as any top player in the AFL, and the speed at which he brings the ball into the forward 50 allows our forwards to dictate the play and keep the opposition backmen guessing.
His efforts against Hawthorn were fantastic, although his delivery wasn't spot on. He kept running and providing options all night, which I feel gave the other players around him the confidence to keep getting in and under knowing that Greg will have worked to the spot to get the handball receive and be off and running. Kicked a great goal when the heat was on.
His game against Sydney, whilst not quite as productive was just as good in terms of endeavour and work rate. Once again, the other midfielders seemed to draw confidence on his work rate and kept going hard at the contest all day knowing he would be there to capatilise on the hard work.
The one area that Greg needs to lift is his goal kicking. He should be aiming for at least two goals a week, which for him can mean having a shot on the run from as far out as 60 meters. If he attacks the goals, this will take the pressure off Richo and Brown, and make us unpredictable when going forward.
Ths far, I would rate Greg's season as a 6/10.
