Remember 28 years ago when a hardnosed back pocket plumber went and changed the colour of his stripe from yellow to red, and won 4 Premierships in those 28 years. Well its time for some payback BUMMERS. I'm banking on this former BUMMER to accomplish the same deed at Tigerland in the next 28 years and give us some joy just as that backpocket plumber did for all of U.
GREAT APPOINTMENT. I'm really pleased but let Richo play on to get 300 games.

Be careful, the Knight's in Shining Armour might repeat that 28 year nightmare!

Re: Time For Some PAYBACK BUMMERS

I think it would be quite poetic that the Bombers went for another Richmond ex-player hoping to repeat the Sheedy era and in turn knocked back the guy who would lead Richmond back to being a Premiership side. Sheedy was from a successful Richmond side, Knights isn't. Hardwick was the tough nosed defender with premiership experience they needed... perhaps once Knights has done his job running that list into the ground he can perhaps come back as an assitant to replace Campbell... which would be even more poetic given the handling of Knight's departure.

Payback. That's really funny. The only payback this club will be doing over the next 5 years is payback the interest & principal to the bank.

Re: Time For Some PAYBACK BUMMERS

Yep, I can still see Sheedy now in the black track suit and football boots he wore in his early coaching days. And I can recall some Essendon mates calling for his head after a month. Wow, 28 years!

The fire's out now, but it would be nice to have an Essendon person take us back to the top.

Isn't it ironic...don't you think !

Nothing to do with Alanis Morissette "Ironic" hit song.

But isn't it ironic that a BACK POCKET PLAYER FROM RICHMOND led Essendon to several premierships...and I'm tipping a BACK POCKET PLAYER FROM ESSENDON will lead Richmond to several premierships...here's hoping !

Good Luck Damien Hardwick...yesterday's press conference was a success...you seem a top bloke...and we're all hoping you can turn this POWERHOUSE club back where it should be.

I know you will be hailed a "Messiah" if you get us to the top.
