Geez RFC has built up quite the stable of West Aussie boys.

Broady

Grover

Marlion

Shai

Baker

Miller

Green

Smith

Thats a fair whack of the list of which 5 are multiple premiership players led by Broady with 3 and Marlion, Shai, Bakes and Grover with 2.

Considering Sydney could've also still been at RFC had he done the business it would've been an even more significant list, and also the return of Matty Parker to WA.

Here's hoping they can add another medal next year.

Our WA team has brought the Tigers a lot of Richmond men and a superstar in the making in Shai.

Great to see the genuine excitement and reaction of the lads Kaleb and Steely in their videos when they were selected by the RFC.

Great to see a couple of more likely Richmond men who wont be in a hurry to return West prematurely.

Likely looking lads that seem to have the right attitude.

By the way just quietly racking up some representation from Taswegia also which will; please our Tassie PRE'rs. (y)

Broady

Grover

Marlion

Shai

Baker

Miller

Green

Smith

Three from South Freo - Green, Pickett and Bolton
Two from Subi - Miller and Baker
One from Swans - Broady
One from East Freo - Smith
One from Peel - McIntosh

Lot of quality players in that lot. Our WA scouting is superb, especially when you consider there are no Claremont players on that list.

Claremont has produced the most AFL players out of any non-Victorian league club (145 to date I believe), although on average they have shorter careers in terms of total games played than players from a number of other interstate clubs. Indeed East Freo players average 30 more games across their career in the AFL than Claremont players do.

Maybe the Tigers should just play all their away games in Taswegie land each year, then the Taswegians wouldn't even need to worry about a " home " team as they'd have us instead. We could simply play five games in Lonny n five games in Hobart each year to keep both halves of the state happy n perhaps even allow them to claim a 5% ownership on the back of suitable long term govt funding of course.
Old fart would happily do a few long weekend touristy trips each year to watch games n help bolster their economy as well.

All part of an elaborate plan concocted by Hartley and Clarke back in 2015-16 to accumulate WA players to be used in future trades with WC and Fremantle. So far the plan has failed due to the unexpected riches we’ve found and our subsequent reluctance to part with any of it. Yet we persist in the hope that some day we’ll find some truly mediocre WA talent that we can use to sweeten a deal involving a late second round and early third round pick.

The Tassie players are probably just more of the same because as we all know, our recruiters never learn from their mistakes.

The other thing to look at is where they got drafted. This is seriously pulling the *smile*.

Broad - 67
McIntosh - 31
Pickett - 13 (Mid-season rookie draft)
Bolton - 29
Baker - 18 (rookie draft)
Miller - 63
Green - 49
Smith - 55

Fun fact:

Broad was overlooked 77 times by WA clubs before we grabbed him. Freo 41 times, West Coast 36 times. This based on actual picks used by those clubs from when Broad first nominated for the draft.

So Freo basically drafted a whole list before Broad got his chance with us.

Now if another WA licence is granted we could lose a lot of players.........Imagine the attraction to join the Margaret River Waves.
