Wasn't that the game Nakas kicked 5
And Morton kicked it on the full with 2 minutes left??

Dont recall to be honest. Remember sitting in my car waiting for my eldest to leave a birthday party. Was pissing down heavily. Was so excited just to get a win. How far we have come.

Off topic....
I was pondering a question the other day and at first glance thought this thread was based on it.

That question was the last 10 on our list (by Guernsey nunber). I reckon you'd struggle to find a better or more talented group on any list for quite a while (2019 Guernsey numbers.
CCJ - young Rickman with stacks off talent.
Chol - utility ruck that could be anything in time.
Garthwaite - solid upcoming defender. Let's see how he goes with more senior talent in the side.
Eggmolesse-Smith : might be the surprise packed this season.
Stack: no comment required
Naish- talented kid looking for a spot in an extremely talented side. Mmm
Miller. Serviceable key defender, needs to keep the improvement trajectory going up.
Ivan : premiership Ruckman!
Baker versatile premiership defender who can go forward and I reckon could go ok in the guts as well. Natural football brain.
Pickett. Need I say more.

There's more talent in that last 10 then many sides have on their first 10.

Pumping the Cats in the 2017 Q final makes my top 5, we finally got the monkey off our back and have gone on to win finals for fun.

Dimmas first win. Pouring rain at Aami.
On Adelaide radio they referred to us during that week before the game as a "bye" for the power.

2 Monkeys: a finals win and a win against Geelong. Such a pity they managed to kick a couple of goals before half time.

But when they drew level and that spurred the Tigers to go up a notch and bury them it was just magic.

Clear number 2 for me. I've watched the second half of that game more times than the 2017 granny.

Funny how we have had so little success in finals recently before the last 3 years and still a finals victory over hawthorn hasn’t made your top 10... not in mine either.. such a weird victory that one. Bit of a flat nothing game. We have only won 9 finals since I’ve been alive and I’ve never even watched that game again.

The 3rd Q of the 2017 was sublime.
When Lambert kicked that goal I thought ‘we’re going to win this’ ‘we’re going to *smile* win it!’

Anyone remember big tex Walker and a couple of other players giving it to Nank after a goal in the second Q.
Wonder with Grigg or Nank gave it back in the 3rd

Geelong 2019 3Q
Bruce was saying Geelong had a winning lead. Only 1 team has come back the far behind to win.
Er, Bruce, make that two teams now.

That Hawthorn game set off alarm bells in me. Hawks were *smile* that year how they got to 4th I do not know. We didn't struggle but we were a 10 goal better side on the year but by late in season we had dropped away. I have just started reading Stronder and Bolder and Hardwick is quoted as saying the signs were there. Others saw the struggling wins as tapering and we just had to hit the switch ...

There was a game at dock lands in 2012 when we beat st Kilda for the first time in many years. Was a cracking game of footy, Jack kicked a bag as I recall and it broke a long losing streak against the saints.
I felt we were finally building a decent team then

2nd quarter, in the 2017 GF? I think you mean the first quarter there mate. Remember, the 2nd quarter was Adelaide's best quarter all year . . . until . . . we kept them goalless in the Grand Final

Yep, that was way too easy a QF for us. We played well in 2018 but were not playing even close to our best for at least a month before the finals. We just managed to keep winning. It is the sign of a good side that they can win when not playing well, but in 2018 it didn't help as the idea we could hit the switch and take it up a level becme harder each week we managed to fall over the line with a win. Then we hit Collingwood who were playing very well and pulled out a blinder in the PF. We didn't play well that night because Collingwood stopped us from doing so. Even if we were playing well they would have been a handful. The fact that we got within 20 points in the last quarter was a testament to how good we were in 2018, if we had won that game it would have been outright theft!

I'm sure everyone at Richmond knew we were winning without much form, but turning that around is a different prospect, they just couldn't get that form back. Having Hawthorn as our opponent in the 2018 QF was the worst thing that could have happened to us. Imagine trying to convince the players that they needed to play a whole lot better after easily winning the QF?
