Yellow and Black!

What a woeful year that was..from the pathetic feeble round 1 effort that was the end of Wallaces career to the equaly bad round 22 loss that must have Hardwick wondering what the hell he has gotten himself into.

Let hope as well as cutting into the list hard and teaching some basis skills to some of the players we retain, that at the very least Hardwick can instill some idea about defensive pressure across the whole list - nothing makes m feel more dissapointed and angry that the soft half hearted effort that almost every player in the yellow and black jumper shows in tackling, shepherding, chasing, smothering and every other facet of applying pressure to the opposition.

If we win no games next year but show an improvement in those areas I will seriously be happy....

When will this ongoing nightmare end?

Thank God it ends tonight !

I can remember some (numerous) bad seasons in the late 1950's and early 60's, in the VFL 10 team competition but at leat the players had a go and played with pride. This is the worst year I can ever remember - never seen such a spiritless mob wearing a Tiger jumper.

I concur. In Iraq supporters would be spitting on the ground and cursing the team at the same time for a pathetic performance especially tonight.

Absolutely disgusted, I believed the players would play their *smiling* hearts out to impress Beavis watching the game from his living room. I feel sorry for his daughter, that lovely little girl will be getting teased at school.

You must go back a long way. I can only remember a 12 team competition, and the worst year was about 1962 with Richmond winning 2 and drawing 2.

He was not alone. Surprising number of tiger supporters at the game (and on the train back to Perth). Its a long way to travel to watch such a poor performance.

Surely we can only be better next year, even if only it is to see Hardwick instill some hardness and accountability in the group (and see some new faces). Sad to see Cogs and Nathan G depart in those circumstances. Bring on 2010.

In Iraq the players would most likely be shot or blown up, the least they could expect is having their feet flogged (the ultimate islamic insult). Absolutely woeful effort, an Under 8 team could beat this lot of so called elite AFL footballers easily.

The fitness and psychology staff have to be shown the door, hopefully this coming week, the cull must be commenced asap on Monday, I'd say a lot of this playing list simply do not give a stuff anymore and those that don't (I don't care who they are) should be told to leave.

What an absolute RABBLE, sheep could do better.

Whoops old and senile - can't count should be 12 !

Lived in the country for years and only saw 3 - 4 games per season. Went 11 years without seeing a Tiger win in any of the games my Old Man and I went to . Remember coming down to a "certainty" when the Queen came to Oz in 1954 (?) AND we lost to Fitzroy - the bottom team.

definitely all the fitness and strengh staff should go imediately , it was obvious last night that even the eagles were stronger in the upper body and through the core , i saw first hand how easliy mcguane was pushed under the ball and out muscled by mc kinley (27#) , and that is not mcguanes fault that the fitness staff have not prepared him for the rigours of holding down a key defensive postion

Who the hell are the weights and conditioning people!!! Skinny, anaemic, unfit footballers. Most of whom couldn't pull the skin off a rice puddin. For gods sake get some staff that can put some muscle on those skinny frames, and get an aerobic capacity that exceeds that of a darts player!!!

Come on boys and girls, onwards and upwards from here. I just hope Dimma cuts this list to the bone!

As flat as I can remember at a season's end.

The footy department needs to be cleaned out from top to bottom. Hardwicks knowledge of the industry and ability to attract good support straff is going to have to be extraordinary to really give the place a good kick start in November.

Did you see his press conference when he was formally announced as Coach? Believe me, if he does what he said then, every player coming to this Club (or staying) will have all of the above as non negotiables. He will be huge on the defensive side of our game

:cutelaugh
This is a funny post Bob but sadly, I concur

I will not be walking around with my head in the clouds next year thinking of premierships and finals.

Time to put the feet on the ground and let Hardwick wield his sword.
