Not just beaten but outclassed by too many to ignore now. Don’t see us as a top 4 finish this year or next, and believe we are in rebuild mode with the Tasmanian entry a further complication.

A new President to guide us over the post Gill phase with the possibility of considerable change off the field, and the near certainty of it, on the field.

Dimma’s has been excellent but his recent comments on the need to increase the soft cap highlight the fact that his current salary swallows too much, which of course limits who else we may employ in off field roles. Agree that we need an upgrade in available funds, as a priority.

Assuming Dimma is committed to staying at the club a new extension to take him say 3 years beyond a 2024 completion, should limit his salary to let’s say $600,000 pa, about what we pay the PM?- with maybe a 25% bonus commencing again, when he lifts us back to a top 4 finish.
Should he go, would want to see him replaced by someone who, like himself, came with a great background in the game, but little experience in the job he took on.

To this end while he remains would use him by having him teach his wares to some of our recent greats like current guy Lambert, and bring back Grigg and Edwards plus Daniel Jackson, (for different reasons), from Adelaide.

Off the playing list will be determined by what happens between now and then.
Nearing the end should be defined by age, coupled with who won’t be part of our next top 4 finish. Castagna already gone, plus Cotch, Grimes, Riewoldt and Tarrant will be part of that discussion.

Some of our top players will also be considered for trade. Only players (11) not on that list should be Baker, Balta, Bolton, Cumberland, Gibcus, Hopper, Rioli D, Ryan, Lynch, Martin and Taranto, plus all drafted since 2020.
