Hello Punt Road End. It's @happytige's daughter here. After a thirteen year journey with melanoma, @happytige passed away peacefully on Tuesday morning this week. I wanted to thank you all for the countless hours of entertainment and laughs you gave Mum on this forum. Mum's love of Richmond was catalysed during her childhood, when her father would huddle her and her four siblings under his trench coat to watch the Tiges play at Punt Road. Her last activity on this forum was liking a post that read: "A blessing that Benny didn’t get the AFL gig. In Benny we trust." This was fitting, as we had a life-size cardboard cut-out of Benny Gale in our lounge room when I was growing up! Mum and her sisters used to fly interstate each year to follow the Tiges. One of Mum's last experiences on earth was witnessing the Richmond nail-biter on Saturday afternoon. She had Richmond running through her veins and some of her last words in this world were "Richmond! Richmond! Richmond!" after the match. Go Tiges. Vale @happytige.

My condolences. My Dad was a lifelong Tiger, too, and it was of a little comfort to me that his final memories of his beloved Tigers were of a win.

My deepest condolences to you and your family happytigejnr.
That was me who posted "A blessing that Benny didn’t get the AFL gig" In Benny we trust" in the 2024 Richmond Coach thread. I'm glad that it gave your mum some joy.
It's great that your mum got to see the rise of the Mighty Tiges again after the dark years.

May happytige Rest In Peace.

CARN THE TIGES !!!!

Melanoma's a horrendous thing.

Deepest condolences and much warmth to you and your family happytigejnr. The pain and loss of a loved one never really leaves you, but may you all heal enough in time to overcome the grief and sorrow, and remember the happy times you all shared - of which it sounds like there were plenty.

That's a lovely post and thanks for sharing the news, as deeply sad as it is.

One of the blessings of online forums is anonymity but it can also be a curse.

There are plenty of people here who I suspect I'd have a roaring time with in real life.

Go well, @happytige

Thanks for the lovely and generous post, condolences on losing your mum, it is a shock whenever it happens.

Good to know her last memory of the Tigers was a come from behind win and those 3 flags after such a long drought did us all a world of good.

Go Tiges.
