It certainly wouldn't do them any harm would it?

Maybe it could be our way of punishing these poor excuses for AFL players.

Our blokes are softer than butter, this may help toughen them up.

In fact I will contribute my hard earned to help get them there.

I'll start with $100.

With PNGs flight disaster record, they may not (a) make it in there or (b) make it back. Is that what you're really aiming for? ;D

Thats too good for them.
A 2hr pass to Luna Park is what these clowns deserve and plenty of free Fairyfloss

thats too soft. make them ride the last train to frankston Friday and Saturday night for the off-season :hihi

Having watched the last few week personally I don’t think Kokoda is tough enough anymore. More drastic measures are required, Afghanistan or Western Pakistan would do the trick

I can just see Brownie trying to ask where can he buy hair care products with his Pashto to English dictionary

An easier way is not to pay them for the garbage they serve up week after week.

It is amazing what the hip-pocket nerve can do.

I'm surprised Juddy isn't playing for us.

We recycle our garbage week after week.

That or the Broadmeadows one. :rofl

actually DD, if you were with up with the times, the broady line has been extended to craigieburn. so a trip there in the offseason is more than appropriate :fing32

I agree.

Pre season they should ALL go. This is a test of mental toughness, or togetherness and fighting through adversity.

It may defy this club. It may bring a united front a goal to achieve TOGETHER NEXT YEAR.

There is no harm in giving this a shot. I have been saying likewise for 2 years.

Seriously guys, being ex Navy SF, I don't think Kokoda would be such a good idea. Its a rugged bit of country, my partner has walked that trail back in the 1970's, the photo's she took show just how physically and mentally demanding the track is.

AFL footballers risk injury to their legs, you can do a knee or ankle, not to mention Malaria or Dengue Fever, so easily and that could put you out for a full season, which makes the risk factor a bit high in my book.

It would be better if the football department got some specialist people together and came up with a "boot camp" type environment over at least a 2 week period, that saw all players and staff undertake some pretty demanding physical exercises that really stretch them psychologically.

I suggested this sort of thing to the RFC Board, haven't heard bo beep back from RFC. These camps can be done, personally its probably too late to do one for this upcoming preseason, more the pity, but yes it can be done and it would sort out those with the right mental attitude that is for sure.

Didn't they do a boot camp the pre season before last? I think it was with the soggies. Jake King got the record for most push ups. Pretty sure they were being woken up in the middle of the night and forced to hike for miles. They weren't allowed to use names. Was a pretty strenuous few days. Don't think they did anything last pre-season.

Yeah they did do a boot camp with the SOG, but SF boot camps are an entirely different animal all together. A few days is simply not enough, minimum 2 weeks and ideally 3 or 4 weeks would even be better, but that is unlikely. If a boot camp was to be held, it should be at the very start of the pre season, after the player's break, to shock them into the way things will be from here on.
