Even though Sam Newman is a joker, he is a wise man when it comes to football. On the footy show he said that richmond are the dumbest team he has ever seen in his life and pointed the finger at Frawely and said if he's not up to it he should step down. At last some people in the media are seeing the light.

Well done Sammy.
 
Mate, I was stoked when I saw that.I totally agree - It's about time the media kicked his ass and sam did it perfectly.Made my night.
 
I think Sam summed the situation up fairly well.

Danny either has a crap game plan, or he can't get the players to follow his instructions.

Lose/lose situation.

Things don't look good for next season unless there are some dramatic changes, and if there are questions will still remain how we were so poor the last 2 seasons.

Actually I guess we don't know the reasons the team performs so badly. In one article Danny bemoans the fact they players didn't follow his game plan, and in the next he says they aren't far away after grinding out a loss.

It seems to me that that kind of negative, stupid, high posession, high turnover play is the way Danny likes it.

Not that I doubt any of you but I have been told about 5 different version at work this morning.

If Sam did, I am a happy camper. I did hear Darren Crocker on 927 this morning saying the old line of "people are paid to make comment, but we can only worry about what we can control blah, blah.."

It is about time that people outside of PRE applied some pressure to Danny.

Imagine the unbridled joy if Danny does resign after rd 22, then we can TRUELY REBUILD.

Not only called us dumb, but the dumbest/most stupid AFL team ever.

On the second point, can't remember the exact words, but from what I recall I think that was about the gist of it. Why put up with either scenario for another year.

He gave Spud and the team a fair serve, and I don't think too many could disagree with what was said.

I could not see that anyone on this board would honestly shed a tear because your words RR of TRUELY REBUILD is what we all want.
 
Come on guys, a bit of balance wouldn't go astray. If any of you were journalists I'd have sacked you by now ;D
Sam said that he felt for Danny, if he was trying to get them to play one way and the players were playing another. He said that the team was either full of dumb footballers, or the coach was telling them to criss-cross the ground and refuse to kick it to Richo, Ottens or Holland.
He gave Danny a 'provisional' serve i.e. IF that is the game plan (to criss cross etc etc) then he clearly isn't up to it and should be replaced.
What he said is nothing new. He's said on one or two other occasions that there are some dumb footballers in our side. I agree with him.
 
Oh yeah, and they did give him a genuine serve for virtually conceding the Essendon game in the 2nd half.

I must of been half asleep because here's what I heard.

"The Tigers are a disgrace. This can only be blamed on one person and that's Danny Frawley. He was a battler on the field and he is in no position to be coaching an AFL side. He has no control over the players, has a rotten game plan if he has one at all, he fails to give the younger players enough time on the field, continually promotes players from Coburg that have shown time and time again that they cant play, he lures duds to the club like King, Houlihan, Biddiscombe etc and he appears to be in denial. The delusion comments he makes after a loss have made him the laughing stock of the league. If the Tigers are looking for success in the long or short term the first thing they need to do is get rid of D Frawley."

I thought there was too much MSG in the Chinese take-away last night. I must find a new noodle shop. I wont mention the dream about the rubber chicken and the peanut butter (shudders). :p

Now Harry you know it is not like me to ever disagree with anything you say but please. ::)

You seem to forget the other things Sam said - fair and balanced reporting is required Harry ;)

Dean covered most of it but he only said that if the game plan is to criss-cross around Austrlaia then Danny should not be there but if the game plan is to kick it long to the talls and the players are not doing what the coach is asking them to do then Danny should get all the players and give them an IQ test..

I reckon it is fair to assume a few of ur lads would fail miserably.

Seems to me Harry you had what I affectionally call "Grumpy's Disease". Named after my mother who has down to an artform the tendancy to hear only what they want to hear

Enough said..........whether it is his game plan or the players are dumb he is responsible for a) recruiting dumb players, and b) developing them into dumb players.............lose-lose situation..............If people didn't realise that he was having a go at Frawely then they are as deluded as the club itself, and have their heads in the sand.
