How many games do we realistically need to win to make the finals this year

Next 5 games

Melbourne at the G
Bulldogs at Marvel
St Kilda at Marvel
North at the G
Port at Adelaide Oval

Should beat St Kilda & North, but we may have to pinch one more win from either of the other 3 games.

dunno how many we 'need' to win, but i reckon we're a chance in all of them

even the Marvel games ....

I think we need 3 at least without relying on other teams to lose.

We can lose two and make it. On the ladder predictor I've got us losing to Dees and Port and still making it.
We can't lose to Saints or dogs because we are fighting for the same spots

3 Wins should do it. But still not a guarantee with 3 wins. GWS/Swans/Ess/Ade could upset us.

Fascinating next 5 rounds

Must win at least 3 to give ourselves a chance for finals.
It's not going to be easy that's for sure.
I'd feel a lot more confidence if we can somehow get over Melbourne.

Beating Dees and Port will almost guarantee Mini the job.

Beating Dogs and Saints at the Dump should get us to finals and, if he does that, he will be difficult to knock out of the process.

Losing all of these games and I reckon he is no hope.

A lot riding on those 4 games for Mini's future IMO

To scrape in to 8th spot we need Giants to beat Bombers…. according to my calculations.

Then eliminator v Cats(5th spot). Is MCG the venue…. or do they scream blue murder about being victimised again?

I was just perusing season by season the fortunes of the sides finishing 5-8 in the final 8 era (which started in 2000). The only team to win a flag from the 5-8 range was the Dogs in 2016 and the Giants in 2019 made the GF from the 5-8 range. In the first 14 or so years of the final 8 it was rare for a club to get the 3rd week of the finals but in the last 8 or so years more teams are making the 3rd week of the finals from 5-8 and on 2 occasions making the 4th week.

I think it’s time a club finishing 8th (us) wins the flag!

I don't know why, when we can just finish 4th.

The only thing standing in our way to the finals is Marvel stadium........................

This top 8 needs Richmond in it. Some of the sides currently in it give it no credibility

So far this round, 4 unlikely wins, all good for Richmond. The Tigers just need to keep up their end of the bargain tomorrow.

A big IF, but if we beat the Dee's, we should be a very good shot to finish 5th - 8th in the regular season
