Richo's Fitness?

Heard Mad Cow speak at the Corn Chips function tonight. He reckoned he was ready to play tonight but the medicos wouldn't let him. Says he a certainty for the Swans.

He spoke on Triple MMM last night, and he saaid he trained at 100% in the last training session but were did not take the gamble. He advised he will be playing the next game...

Also he tone & manner was different in that you can tell he was not going to take any radio crap & spoke firm & true. He wanted badly to be there!!! ..

Good.. next victim THE SWANS!!!

Excellent news :)

I asked Richo when he would be back and he said he will be there for the swans. With our seconds with the bye this week who should come in and who goes out.

carn tigers

in: richo and stafford
out: ?

Spot on Tigerfan ... out: *smile* and Marsh

Are you kidding ?

Shultz should be in every week and play alongside Richo. I reckon these two can lead and mark really well which stops the predictability of passing to Richo all the time.

sarge really needs to work on his kicking though..flea said on sen yesterday he can sometimes be a bit lazy and kick of one step..trying to get him out of that habit. ;)

Rodan is very dissapointing. If we're looking for people to trade,I'd put him at the top of the list.Other clubs supporters seem to rate him alot higher than most of us I'd say, hence we should be able to negotiate a decent pick for him.

I know he can be exciting in bursts at times but single digit stats week in and out is just not acceptable.I said at the start of the year I don't believe him to be a "natural" footballer (ie can go to where the football is a la Andrew Walker) and he s done nothing to change my mind.

I have to disagree Evo. Rodan is still young and learning a lot. Granted he is, as you say not a natural footballer, but he is a natural ball handler and can find his way through traffic. Yes he can try and do too much at times but that is because he is not a midfielder. Not yet anyway. I would have Rodan in a permanent forward half roving role were he can get in under and through packs and only the goals open up to him. Single digit figures are not a bad return if he can kick a couple of goals in that. That I beleive is Rodans role and I think he could be very good at it if he was nurtured and instructed in that role. A couple of years from now we might have a regular 40/50+ a year small goalkicker.

What about finding some room for Bowdo Zanners and Petrified who all played well for Coburg?
     WHOA INCOMING ;D ;D ;D

Your right Walster,he is quite good at scooping up the loose ball,I think i read somewhere his old nickname was vacuum or hoover or some such.If we do keep him I agree forward pocket is his spot, however I can't see him becoming the 50 goal forward pocket that Richmond really need. When I think of good roving forward pockets I think of Medhurst, Farmer, S.Burgoyne,P.Matera and of course our Browny. These guys kick 50+/season because the can take a good leading and/or contested mark as well. I've rarely seen Rodan do this.In fact whenever I see him one out I assume he will lose the contest.10 years ago when games were more conjested he could've mad a living purely being a hoover on the forward line, much like Bartlett did towards the end of his career. But these days forward lines are sparser and guy who can't take a contested mark soon gets found out.

Don't get me wrong I quite like the guy but I think if we are looking for people to trade at the end of the season he could be the man.

Trade Rodan I feel who ever said that is one of 2 things. Does not follow Richmond or is on Drugs. Rodan is young and will be a good player. There are many other sides that would like to have him.

dont think you need to be on drugs to suggest the trade of roden..i would say most clubs would say that 75% of players at draft time are possible trades if the deal is right..
