News services around Australia, are reporting that the entire Richmond Football Playing List and Football Department staff have disappeared after being comprehensively beaten by the West Coast Eagles last night.
The players and management did not make the flight back from Perth last night.
As yet there has been no comment from the Richmond President Gary March, or new coach Damien Hardwick......meanwhile.
"Right you lazy no good so called elite footballers, we'll show you what elite is!.
Everyone come with us, blindfold the lot of them. The entire Richmond squad and staff stared in amazement as fully armed black dressed men stormed into the Subicao Changeroom of the team and took it over. All Richmond staff were herded into the coaches room, whilst the players were told to put on combat fatigues and boots. The players were totally stunned as they were thinking of 4 weeks rest and recreation lying on a Thai beach resort and working on their tan's and catching up with Terry Wallace and Greg Miller.
Once dressed everyone was frogmarched to several trucks and roughly tossed into the back, whereby the trucks headed for RAAF Pearce Airbase. On arrival, the trucks were driven directly on to the C17 Starlifter, that had been directly flown over from Amberley in Queensland. The plane once loaded immediately took off on a North West heading.....
Australian news services are reporting that the entire Richmond Football Club players and staff have disappeared from their changeroom, all club uniforms and equipment has been left behind, no one appears to know anything about this sudden disappearance.....
12 hours later, the players and staff are issued parachutes, fully loaded backpacks with 50Kg of ammunition, change of uniform, rations, first aid gear. The planes rear ramp lowered, all the Richmond players and staff at gunpoint where told to hook up their static lines and move to the rear of the aircraft which was now flying at 12,000 feet directly over the Australian Special Forces operations area in Afghanistan. They were accompanied by 2 fully armed troops from the SAS Regiment, who were going to take the entire club for a much needed physical and mental toughness training session through their operational area inside Afghanistan.
The parachutes that were issued did not include a "reserve", all chutes would deploy automatically upon the players leaving the aircraft, any that failed well that was too bad. The players etc were fully informed of this and that all would jump or be tossed out of the aircraft in 5 minutes time. They were told that on landing they were to immediately group together and no one was to move, as a number of improvised explosive devices and landmines were known to be in the area. The entire Richmond group looked at each other with stunned disbelief that this could even be happening to them, no it couldn't could it......
Meanwhile back in Australia, the WA Police are completely at a loss to explain what has happened in this case. The WA Police Commissioner has assured the AFL, that all available resources are being thrown into finding where the Richmond Football Club players and staff have disappeared to, however the Commissioner stated that given the significant number of current priorities his force had to deal with at present, that it may take some considerable time for the police to figure out who or what has caused the entire Richmond players and staff to just up and leave like they have.
