Genuinely interested in others thoughts. Has Dimma and the club regressed to old habits slightly with a statistical - process driven system thinking and response. I've noted it a lot more in pressers and club information....lot's of process or stats, similar to the darker days of "within these 4 walls". Also seems evident with some players being moved to seemingly odd positions to their possible skill set, and not notably looking to enjoy their game time.
The mantra of our successful years was "it's just a game", "It should be fun", "You were recruited for your strengths and we'll play to them".
Looking at the players, the simple joy of playing seems missing... perhaps it 's a culmination of many things.

One step back to go two steps forward.
In a difficult position, if melbourne, dogs, had three of their top centre/mids out and a dynamic forward be able to win games. What would be their coaches reaction be? The fact Dimma is bringing the youngsters and encouraging them to play to their strengths speaks volumes. He is caught in two places, playing the best team and juggling the youngsters for the future. This lies the issue. Sure he is saying its a game, do your best and enjoy, however, he needs to develop the youngsters for future replacements

Which also means he has to nudge other players into unusual roles to try n patch and cover while the kids are getting much needed development time.

Reigning premiers with mature yet AFL inexperienced players like Fish 30 games, Fartsy 24 games, Balta 40 games n still developing in the team.
We've thrown into the side
Rossy 23 games
Naishy 7 games
Not Dusty debut
Nigel debut
R2D2 debut
Raaaalph debut
Definitely a view to getting some miles into the next generation while we've had Cadds, Stack, Eggs, Cholly. Blokes with more time and experience in the game sitting in the magoos.
