Gold Coast (SE - QLD).
I’ll predict

Houli. Grimes. Broad
Vlastuin Astbury. Edwards
Caddy. Pickett. Short
Dusty. Riewoldt. Lambert
Rioli. Lynch. Castagna
soldo. Cotchin. Prestia
CJ stack Bolton Baker

Emerg’s: Nank Mcintosh graham Ross

so going out from the GWS practice match is
Nyuon dow

Changes from the GF
IN CJ & stack
Out Nanks & Ellis.

Nank was brilliant in his VFL hit out, if MC think he has enough match practice under his belt, (which is only a half in Intra and 3 qtrs in VFL praccy), then Nank will probably get the nod.

As far as other selections go I know they say you can't win premierships without at least a couple of changes to your 22. We have all year to sort that out so except for Syd the same 22 deserve to show their wares in round 1.

I reckon the side is pretty easy to pick after the 2 Marsh games.

GF side, except:

Out: Bellis

In: Stack

The only other question is rucks. I won't be surprised to see them pick Nank but equally won't be surprised to see CCJ instead of Nank.

Likes of Ross, RCD, Naish, Chol, Balta didn't show enough when given the opportunity to force their way in.

Nank will come in and CCJ out I reckon. The young un can still benefit from some VFL time and Nank was galloping all over the park apparently.

Save for any injuries this week.

I agree with Caesar BT and Ant if Nanks if fit and ready after another intra club hit out this week at steam he'll come in.

It will ,likely be the GF side plus Syd and minus Brando for mine.

Dow and CCJ could well be in the emergencies I reckon with Ross and Graham or K Mac if they are ready.

CCJ has his graph trending up though.

B: Grimes, Astbury, Broad
HB: Short, Vlastuin, Houli
C: Caddy, Prestia, Baker
HF: Bolton, Lynch, Martin
FF: Castagna, Riewoldt, Rioli
R: Soldo, Cotchin, Pickett

IC: Edwards, Stack, Coleman-Jones, Lambert

Hope some new faces put pressure on/take the spots of a few more incumbents.

In hindsight, I reckon the best 22 could have been shaken up a bit more in 2018. We were a bit stagnant/almost going through the motions in the last third of the season. 2019 everyone was on their toes. The newbies in 2019 (Lynch, Stack, Soldo, Baker, Short, Pickett, Bolton etc.) all played big roles during the year and the finals to get us a second flag in three years.

Ive got 50/50 each way here.

Many posters have stated their case so really its either 1 - 2 changes to the side.

Quick question. With Shai, Marlion and Sydney very likely to receive many games and blossom this year the question arises - how good is our bottom six?

If you judge us on our bottom six not out top six how do we rate? My bottom six in order - Short, Baker, Nankervis, Bolton, Castagna (starting to struggle now), Broad/Pickett/Stack for the last choice - you choose. No matter who you choose we are feeling no pain.

I honestly feel that Short with his ability to be victimised man-on-man and overhead is our weakest link. Not a bad weakest link.

A good bottom 6 wins you flags, we have a truly great bottom 6.

The only consternation at the moment for round one will be either Nank or CCJ to chop out Soldo.

Stacky is a moral as he is best 22 and he replaces Bobble.
