I added "other" in case someone thinks our top player isn't one of those 5.

PRE members have the following as top 5 in the player of the year up to and including round 5.

Brown.....249
Krakouer.....236
Johnson.....88
Richo.....77
Fleming.....55

The RFC site would have round 6 included.

I think Brown has been our best this year, but we knew when we got him he was a pretty decent footballer.

The one who I have gained the most pleasure out of watching this season has been Krakouer, who has really taken to his midfield role. If he continues to develop at that rate, we'll have another excellent on-baller in our rotation.

Otto...in the wash up all the others are feasting on his impressive stats even though we are suggesting he is not where we think he should be when it comes to dominance...he stats say it differently.

Just imagine when he strikes form huh?.
Dont lose this guy tigers...i am concerned the pies are making a play via draft position to take him for nothing from us...be aware

Geeze they've taken to Krakouer.Pretty unfair on Johno I'd suggest.

I'm sorry but I'm going to have to go to the Stats again ;D

Player MT K H D Avg M Avg HO Avg T

Andrew Krakouer 6 57 40 97 16.2 20 3.3 0 0 22
Kane Johnson 6 93 58 151 25.2 37 6.2 0 0 23

I thought Otto could have been on the list, but there was probably a restriction on how many options they could have.

I think Brown would be leading our b&f easily at this stage.

I'm so glad we drafted Nathan. His experience, work ethic and skill can only be benefiting our young kids coming through.

Hear what you say evo, but a lot of Jonno's kicks have been going nowhere - sort of like a right-footed Joel with his disposal recently :(

Can i ask this guys?
Last year he was sending missiles into the chests of teammates, can anyone suggest as to what is the problem with him this year?
Sometimes i scratch myhead with his kicking this year..like is that you Jonno?

Fair call heartbalme although I thought he was alot better against the Dawks. He's getting 25 disposals/week thats top echelon in the league. It's essential to us that his disposal is spot on.

Johnson's not even in the same ball park as Krakouer.  In a half decent team Krakouer would absolutely dominate.  Johnson was in a great back-to-back winning premiership side and he was the 5th string midfielder - in fact he was their tagger.

No comparison between the 2 when it comes to class.

There's no doubt that Johnson can find the footy, but for most of the season his disposal has been fairly ordinary. I think he may be suffering from poor confidence more that most.

I'm not saying Krakouer is the best midfielder or anything, just that his efforts have been sensational this year, and his ability to step straight into a midfield role and take to it like a duck to water really shows what a good selection he was.

Considering the battering Otto's body has taken over the past year or so (on field & off - OUCH!), I don't understand why he has been bagged so often and so loudly.  With no Richo/Stafford, this guy has carried so much weight.  Obviously he isn't doing enough by winning the tap outs, he should know he is also expected to crumb his own ruck work.  He has not stopped winning ruck contests, the opposition crumbers don't have any problem winning the ball thanks to Brad.  WHY CAN'T OURS???

YES. Brown has been our best, followed by Krack after that there's a drop in standard.
Surprised not to see Ottens in the poll or even Tivendale. I would rate Tiv above Johnson and Fiora.

Brown, Krak and Tiv is my top 3 players early in the season.
