surely the club could afford to pay for his surgery. Come on Brendan pay for the surgery just a reminder Collingwood paid surgery to Dec Tuddenham and Len Thompson I think
 
yeah, agree. I wouldn't donate to the FTF any more but of there was a whip around for Royce's Op I'd happily open my wallet again
 
I hope the club support him, although this has been known for so long he could have been operated on the public list for free. I'd tip in if a hat was passed around but I do wonder why things like this are played out in the media.

As someone who has had open knee surgery several times I find that very hard to believe.

Sounds dodgy as hell. $150K was the estimated sale price of the memorabilia mentioned in the video linked to above.

There are some very grubby people about. Wouldn't donate Monopoly money to something like that.
 
Knee and back surgery.??
Medicare, elective surgery who knows. I'm not sure if the whole $150k is to cover his ops or whether he needs the money for living expenses or what?

Perhaps done with good intentions. Still wouldn't go near it.

Edit: I don't want to sabotage what could be a genuine effort to assist. Maybe the organiser can post here and provide some authentication?
 
I wouldn't either, especially when surgery can be done for free on the public health system. Was it Polly Farmer who played poor in the media and mentioned selling his stuff too?
