i sat down last night watching the couch and anticipating the opening segment would be on jack dyer.
how wrong was i!1st segment was on the syd-pies match my blood was boiling however by the time there goons finally acknowledged the great man it was the last segment [all 2mins of it] i was absolutely fuming.
im convinced all 3 goons on the show have a hatered towards anything about richmond and last night proved it.
however the most disgraceful performance last night came from MS who made a comment that the biggest story to come out of the weekend was the brodie holland incident.WHAT AN ABSOLUTE JOKE OF A MAN YOU ARE MIKE SHEEHAN.

Yeah I was expecting more news about Jack Dyer on Fox Footy News but only got a little slippet after White Line Fever at 8.20pm. I too, was expecting to hear mention of Jack in the first few minutes of On the Couch but quickly realised these 3 guys are too fond of giving their opinions on other matters to be really concerned about the passing of a true football great - something Gerard Healy and Robert Walls will never be and as for Mike Sheehan ....

Healy is a moran, he hates the Tigers, I took him to task earlier this year in regards to the Greg Stafford incident,he was the leader of the media onslaught that suggested that Staff should of got 6 weeks, Gerard Healy is a fool.
Tries to make over the top comments so his show on 3aw rates.

Had a bit of a chuckle last week when Walls in particular, and Healy, were disgusted at the public campaign to hang Jess Sinclair for decking Lance Piccione (sp?).

I seem to recall a different atitude when it was Greg Stafford they were trying their hardest to crucify through the media.

What hypocrites.

Mike Sheahan...did he play for us? (Sheahan, Bolger, O'Neill).
Healy, they used to make push-bikes, didn't they?
Now, Wallsy I know, he played for (SPIT) the Blues.
And Brodie Holland...is that Dutchy's real name, or is he just one of the Bunch? (weak joke...Brodie? Bunch?)
Forget it, it's been a long, slow winter and I need my sleep. Bears sleep in winter. Oh! is that an omen? The Bears for the flag? Well, I certainly can't barrack for the Black'n'bloodyWhites, can I now?

particularly when you consider that Stasfford was found not guilty.

I tend to remember an article written by a Ms G Healy that he had it on good authority that Richmond and Melbourne were merging. In fact, he was calling for it to happen.

YEA RIGHT, IN YOUR DREAMS RICHARD CRANIUM - which is exactly what you are Healy.

I always turn over to on the couch when I'm having trouble falling asleep.
At least the Herald Sun did Jack justice with a fine tribute,I already have the front page picture framed and on my wall.

I'm sure Mike Sheehan will cotton on this week that Jack Dyer has passed away. He always seems to be a week behind the news anyway.

Mike Sheenan is a football want to be.

Writes nothing but crap.

Never ever take anything Mike Sheenan writes seriously.

Notice he never writes a bad thing about Essendon ? Thats cos he is totally biased and barracks for them.

A good journalist will not take sides, or at least show it

The show "On the Couch" should be renamed "On the Toilet", because nothing but *smile* goes into that show.

Sheehan, Walls and Healy are a joke, I've heard mutes speak more sense than these bozos.

Tim Watson hosted Talkinh Footy, as Bruce was ill. David Parkin was part of the panel.

Julz, I think the first thing they talked about was Jack Dyer. Can't remember what was said, but they certainly mentioned him.

Far be it for me to stick up for Sheahan but he did have an article in Mondays Herald Sun about the time Wayne Campbell presented Captain Blood with his Tiger Tie numbered 324 (every player who's represented the Tigers got one in order of appearance in the Yellow & Black). Here's what he had to say about his experience (taken from the Herald Sun Monday 25th Aug)

"Even after more than 30 years mixing with the biggest names in football, there was a certain nervousness for Ward and me about seeing Captain Blood at home.

Rather like how you would imagine you might feel walking into Muhammad Ali's living room.

Dyer retired from league football in 1949, yet the legend grew in retirement.

There was World of Sport, his enduring radio partnership with Ian Major, "The Captain and the Major", and his Truth newspaper column.

As big as Lou Richards and Bob Davis are and were back then, Jack commanded something special, a feeling of, well, reverence in a way.

Channel 9's The Footy Show logo is of the great Dyer in full flight and at his regal best. That illustrates his status in footy history.

After Campbell presented the tie to Dyer, he played with it for a while, then said, in vintage Dyer-speak: "Thank you very much indeed. Made of gold, this."

Photographer Ward, whose father, Ron, was a long-time Richmond trainer, and I had more than an hour with Jack and his family.

We watched him sing the Barrer Boy song to his great-granddaughter, Alex Cleary, then four.

"You're beautiful, aren't you?" he said ruffling her tresses with those massive hands of his.

Hard to believe the words came from the man who sparked such a wide range of emotions during his long career. As much as the Richmond people loved him, he was despised by the opposition.

They say he was as tough and brutal as they made 'em, but it was hard to believe as he nursed his little girl.

Like Campbell, Ward and I enjoyed a lifetime memory."

And Nwonash - he's a Demons man not a Bomber.
