...is a steaming pile of *smile*. We are being conditioned to accept the death of the PC and settle for applications that will run on devices powered by watch batteries, with a blandness to match.

Uninstalled. *smile* you Microsoft.

Your opinion?

I agree LTRTR. It's all touch...touch....touch......cloud...cloud...cloud.

I've still got Office 2010 on Windows 7 and won't upgrade to 2013 because, just like IE10, it's all built for Windows 8 tablets.

You're better off with 2010. I knew nothing about it before trying it this afternoon, so went in with no preconceptions. My reaction went from surprise to disappointment to disgust. I'll be trying for the next 12 months or so to convince the IT manager to give 2013 a miss. I'm sure it has some useful new features and is terribly efficient on computing resources, but all that bloody white space hurts the eyes and will result in lost productivity.

I've got enough horsepower on my home PC to make Kasparov run screaming from a game of chess and I want to *smile*' use it. GIVE ME ELECTRICITY-GORGING EYE CANDY YOU BASTARDS!! Office 2013's about as bleak and appealing as a winter holiday in Siberia.

Looked up a few reviews just to make sure I wasn't being unfair. One reviewer who was clearly a Microsoft hater wrote, "They've wiped the lipstick off the pig." Even official reviews which attempted to be positive were damning with their faint praise.

There, took two rants to get it out of my system, that's how bad it is. But feel free to disagree. :)
