Obama v McCain

The BBC website is reporting that a small town in new Hampshire and one other town have already cast their votes, both have been won by barak.
Although i might add that both towns only had about 20 or 30 voters

Although traditionally on the left of politics, since Clinton got scuttled from the race I've been backing McCain.

Obama is too much of a protectionist for me economically, and I've been disappointed with the lack of detail beyond "change" thats been discussed.

That being said, McCain has the legacy of the GOP hanging around his neck (between Iraq and the financial crisis, they are on the nose majorly), and I personally cannot see him getting up.

I think I was reading before that from 11pm - 12am there is a special on it on SBS or ABC, i think it was SBS.

LOL at the Simpsons mug shots ! We just need a sample of grampa asking the family pets "which one of you is the cat?"

If we assume Obama will win, would you say McCain stuffed up by selecting Palin as his running mate? Or have voters actually bought into the Obama vision? I'm hoping their is some analysis of this i.e do people vote FOR someone or against someone?

Obama had it all wrapped up months ago if you ask me.
He did,Sky News has extensive telecasts today on the result.Personally I don't fancy either of them,Obama's full of hot air & McCain should be retired.

That is the best post on PRE by far in 2008. Awesome.

Watch Fox news, having Obama win is like eating *smile* burgers for Fox. They are grumpy as.

The New York Times have the best online coverage - interactive maps and all that jazz.

They have 'pop-up dashboard' that has the projections from all the different networks. So at the moment that actual tally is Obama's 22 electoral votes to McCain's 8, the various networks are reporting:

Associated Press: 82 - 34
ABC News: 103 - 49
CBS News: 102 - 54
NBC News: 103 - 43
CNN News: 102 - 34
Fox News: 103 - 69

This is one thing that bugs me about US network election coverage, they are so bloody eager to be the first to call it, they often go way to early (remember how many times Florida changed in 2000 :hihi).

The CNN site has an excellent interactive summary too.

ALL OVER!!!!!! Gobama!!!!
300+ electoral votes, carnage, in the senate and house too.
About time too.

McCain - lol.

Where do they find these people ?

Dont hold much for him as a pollie either (nor Obama for that matter) but geez what he's been through in his life in general is pretty admirable.

A good win it appears by Obama, and well deserved given how his team dominated the campaign.

I just hope the talk of change is now backed up with actual positive change, and not just the usual tinkering around the edges or change solely for partisan advantage. Personally I cannot see it happening, but here's hoping I'm wrong.

it's all over

It's President Obama

McCain pnly really pulled Texas

but Obama has claimed the big ones: New York, PA, Ohio, FA, California.

Is FA Fla? If so, only Associated Press have called it for Obama so far.

Agree,McCain would hav ebeen a better option than Bush. The yanks can get rid of Bush quick enough so whoever stood for the republicans was wasting his/her time.
