I am thoroughly convinced this club is in the right hands, is getting or has the right players and will make a major step forward next year to a period of sustained success. We are already not far off the teams who finished slightly ahead of us eg bombers saints swans north and with some top notch recruiting and makig sure we win those unloseable games (port and gold coast) we will rise sharply. Get on board because Benny and Cotch are destined for success.!!!

We are all very nervous about false dawns when it comes to the Tigers . We also can all see the obvious flaws in our list and know that we are a long way from being a Top 4 side .
We are not a long way from playing finals though . I have said earlier that I believe that we will surprise many next year given a decent run with injuries .
There are plenty who will believe that Tiger supporters who think this way are just deluded ferals falling into the same old trap but I have not thought this way about the future of the club for a long time . I always had major doubts about the 2009 predicted resurgance .
This time the Club is being rebuilt properly , from the ground up . Good administration , solid financials and fund raising , investment in recruiting and development and a really good team spirit .
We are going to be under the radar this pre season because very few rate us . That's just fine with me .

Getting there but haven't got the quality player depth yet. Heaven help us if Cotchin, Martin, Delidio or Riewoldt got injured and missed multiple games. We're still too reliant on our top 5-6 and find it hard to match the top 4-5 teams in any case.

It's absolutely improving, but until we have 12-15 consistent elite players (including a ruckman that can at least break event with his opposition counterpart) we're not yet ready to challenge for top 4 and flags.

2012 is a no lose for the RFC we will either make the finals or MM will be coach in 2013

its comments like this that make me think its imperitive DH gets a contract extention before the start of the 2012 season!

Im terrified of a false dawn or club implosion under the weight of expectations... but I really do thinkif nothing untoward happens injury wise we'lll play finals nexts year. We have enough improvment in us to do it and I think the squad are committed to doing the hard work necessary.

I feel as though we are on the right track, but next year I still feel we will pull up short of finals. But not by much. We have glaring deficiencies in many spots in our 22. Until that is corrected, and we are no longer playing depth players deep in our best 22 we cannot make a serious push for anything. Injuries will occur next year and if one of our top 5 goes down we will be very exposed.

More patience is needed, but what the recruiting team and Dimma has done in 24 months is phenomenal.

If people think that anything less then finals next year should spell the end for Dimma, they are being over the top. He has almost built this team from the ground up. We can't just sack Dimma because he hasn't handed us the instant results. It would be scary to think what Dimma would be doing right now if he was the coach of Gold Coast.

People need to give it more time, we need a lot more depth, and it won't come from 3 drafts. The RFC can only do so much, when you have so little.

Missing finals next year wont be the end of the world nor will it be the end of Hardwick. A couple of injuries to our key players and we are serious bottom 3 material. Missing finals would give us another star in the draft as the top end is stacked and should give us that little extra boost we need if weve missed out. If we make finals then even better. We still need to be more consistent like the Sydney's St.Kilda's and Essendon's that we are capable of beating.

Another good run with injuries re our key players and we can play finals next year. Even with a poor run, we shouldn't go backwards. It's imperative that we play finals in 2013.

I think you are both right. I can see MM coming in for 2013 if things go really poorly next year.

But on the other hand, I do not want Dimma deviating from his plan to build the club up by taking shortcuts under pressure to keep his job.

The club shouldn't commit to anything right now, which does leave Dimma a bit exposed.

So I think the club only has one option. It has to be totally clear on what is expected and what Dimma needs to do to get a contract extension.

Who owns the rights to the "I was there when we were *smile*" t-shirts? Time to bring those babies out again!

Exactly. If you're up-front and clear on the objectives then there shouldn't be an issue. If Dimma were to deviate form his plan for the purpose of survival then it should become patently clear during the season that this is the case and the issue be raised at the time. I don't think from what I seen that Hardwick is that type of person anyway. Hopefully we are much more professional off the field in these sort of situations now.

It's contrary to Mick's categorical statement he will not coach again - anywhere. He repeated it again at a function two nights ago apparently - would be a major re-think. Can see him in a football department role though, based on all he's said recently.

Agree with this. Injuries will dictate whether we make the 8 or not.

we need to keep upgrading our players with a focus upon building our under 23 team.

I would like to see 10 - 12 new kids over the next 2 drafts.

keep doing Grigg, Houli, Morris Maric deals

My problem with that though Pahracio is that Mike is a coach through and through.

I honestly cannot see him filling another role in footy.

well dont know if MM will be coach in 2013 but if we dont make finals it will spell disater for the club specaliy when really we should of been playing finals this year and with all these new coaches and couple extra coaches coming in we cant afford to go backwards if we do we will lose some of our better players

Only looking for improvement in 2012.

Couldn't care less about finals as it would be irrelevant to our premiership expectations unless it was top 4.

We could get as high as 5th or 6th but that would only extend our season 1 or 2 weeks.
