his transition from the Seniors to VFL to Coaching is as seamless and non-fuss as you'd like it to be

This makes sense. Has effectively been like an assistant coach on the field since he retired from AFL.

Really like this appointment. Thumbs up from me.
Morris is a really solid human being. Obviously has aspirations for coaching.
Glad RFC has given him the opportunity to showcase his wares.
Plus, it's always great to have a Richmond Man coaching future Richmond Men.

Is this playing / coach thing us exposing a loop hole to avoid part of his cost in the soft cap?

it's got to be a cost reduction. They haven't had playing coaches since the 70s have they?
There may have been since then but i can't remember the last time we had one.
