Nathan Brown of Richmond fame has put in an application to the Australian copyright board to register the term “Three-Peat” in light of Richmond’s performance on the weekend. “I think I am a real shot at achieving three wooden spoons in a row” enthused Brown who won a spoon at the Bulldogs in 2003 and another one at Richmond in 2004. “Those Brisbane boys might have won three flags in a row but this is really special for me.”
When quizzed as to how that felt, Brown admitted that it did feel kind of funny but added that the truckload of cash Richmond tipped on his doorstep every week certainly helped. “Also, they don’t just give those spoons away you know. You have to be a special kind of player in a special kind of team to get them” However Brown seemed confused when reminded of his explanation for leaving the Bulldogs in the first place. “To play in finals? Nah, I wouldn’t have said that surely. If I wanted to play in finals, why would I go to Richmond? I’ll tell you why. For cash. Bucketloads and bucketloads of cash.” Obviously with these sort of statements Brown is not perturbed at the promise and talent shown at the Bulldogs and the fact that they are now an outside chance at the final 8.
“Mate, the “Three-Peat”© is the way to go. I’ll go down in history like the other famous names. I mean, who could forget Sid Morris from the Saints with his treble?” Brown concluded. The spring shown in Browns step as he wandered off down Commercial road to pick up another clubbing top revealed a man content with his lot in life. And his cash of course, his great big dirty mound of cash
